Parade Week Returns

Each spring, St. Andrew’s College comes together for one of the most distinctive and cherished traditions of the school year: Parade Week. This remarkable expression of heritage, discipline, service, and school spirit has shaped Andreans for generations.

Anchored by three signature events – the Church Parade, the Head of School’s Parade, and the Cadet Inspection – Parade Week reflects the enduring strength of the school’s Cadet program and the values it continues to instill in students today.

Church Parade | Monday, April 27

A tradition dating back to the 1899-1900 school year, the Church Parade remains one of the school’s oldest and most visible public expressions of tradition. Students in the #142 St. Andrew’s College Highland Cadet Corps will march through the heart of Aurora to Trinity Anglican Church, accompanied by the stirring sound of the Pipes & Drums and Wind Ensemble.

Before the procession, families and members of the public are invited to gather at Aurora Town Park for the beloved Concert in the Park, featuring the Symphonic Band.

This year’s Church Parade will also include a reaffirmation of the Freedom of the Town, granted to the Cadet Corps in 2005, a meaningful reminder of the longstanding relationship between SAC and the Aurora community.

The Head of School’s Parade | Thursday, April 30

Later in the week, the Cadet Corps return to the campus Quadrangle for the annual Head of School’s Parade. This ceremonial inspection brings together precision drill, music, and military tradition in honour of the Head of School.

Featuring a musical tattoo, ceremonial review, and full parade on the field, this event offers a powerful showcase of student leadership, discipline, and pride in the cadet program.

The 121st Annual Cadet Inspection | Saturday, May 2

Cadet season culminates with the 121st Annual Cadet Inspection, one of the defining traditions of St. Andrew’s and among the longest-standing cadet inspections in Canada.

With the full Corps on parade, the afternoon includes a ceremonial review, inspection by the Reviewing Officer, award presentations, and performances by the school’s celebrated Pipes & Drums and Wind Ensemble.

It is a moment that honours excellence, recognizes achievement, and underscores the character-building role Cadets have played in the life of SAC for well over a century.

Parents, Old Boys, and friends of the school are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the accomplishments of our Cadets.
