Impressive showing for Alpine Ski team in first race

The SAC Alpine team competed in its first race today at Mansfield Ski Club, in perfect conditions.
All three teams fared incredibly well in their respective divisions today. The Level 1 and 2 Varsity teams had an especially impressive day easily winning both of their races.
Aidan Walters (2nd), Hunter Appelbe (T - 7th), and Ryan Henderson (T - 7th) led the way for the Level 2 team who won by nearly 20 cumulative spots, and finishes by Kieran Walters (3rd), Cole Lapshinoff (4th) and Sebastian Murphy Ives (8th) secured the victory for the Level 1 Saints.
The U14 team also gained some valuable experience today as it was the first race for many of the skiers. They finished 4th overall, led by Jaxon Iatan's 13th place finish.
Next week the team travels to Alpine Ski Club after 4 days of "Wintermission" - unseasonably high temperatures and precipitation that will significantly affect the snow "base" across Ontario.
This will affect our conditions greatly, and dramatically change the type of Giant Slalom course that we will face.
