Coming off the December break and into a tournament, shorthanded, is never a good thing for confidence.
The U16 B Basketball team had a re-commitment meeting and discussed how we haven’t committed ourselves or demonstrated the passion to be an elite team yet. Today was the start of what we hoped would be a new reality.
Appleby College came into the Yuill Gym fresh off an impressive loss in overtime to St. Michael’s College and had recently played us to a three-point game in their gym. This was the perfect challenge to start the new era.
Your U16 team responded by completely overwhelming their opponent in the defensive end, not giving them an inch of breathing space. On offence, solid movement and team play resulted in excellent scores.
The game was virtually over at half up 30-10.
Lots of player personnel moves in the second half allowed for all team members to get in on the action and we coasted through the remainder.
