A Hauntingly fun Halloween Celebration

The spirit of Halloween came alive at St. Andrew’s as students, faculty, and staff rocked an array of cool and creative costumes.

The fun started early in Yuill Gym with Middle School Spookfest. After playing a variety of spooky and slimy games like the slippery pumpkin toss and gourd bowling, students competed in a pie eating contest, which was won by grade 8 student, Kian Pouragha. Banana cream was the choice of pie this year but doesn’t look as if it will become a popular breakfast choice for the students anytime soon.

Not long after was the Upper School’s turn to get in on the fun. Staunton Gallery filled up as the students held their Annual Costume Contest. This year the performances were top notch, including a choreographed dance between Spiderman and Deadpool, a two-part fight scene from the video game Street Fighter, and an entertaining race from the cast of Mario Kart. The cheering crowd packed all the way to the back of the Gallery, voting for the best costume after each performance. Prefects added to the entertainment by throwing handfuls of candy into the crowd at regular intervals.
