    This week is Freedom to Read Week across Canada. Our right to choose what we read is enshrined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Sue Hayter, School Librarian, believes that’s worth celebrating: “The freedom to choose what we read –  intellectual freedom – is a cornerstone of democracy. In Canada, we are lucky to have the choice - whether we agree with the point of view or not.”

    The Senior Saints Swim team brought home the 2017 CISAA Swimming Championship trophy from the meet held February 22 at the University of Toronto. As well, SAC’s Junior and Open teams earned second-place finishes in their divisions.

    Last Friday, Anishinaabe/Ojibway author, Jenny Kay Dupuis, visited St. Andrew’s College to talk to students and staff about the making of her book I am Not a Number.
  • U14 Hockey's playoff hopes dashed

    The U14 Hockey Saints hosted their rivals from Crescent School in their last regular season game February 22. The boys knew that this game was their ticket to the playoffs. A win would secure third place overall, but either a tie or a loss meant that they would fall to 5th place.

    Wednesday afternoon, the curling Saints hosted two schools at their home ice at the Bradford Curling Club. These matches would establish some final match ups as we head into our finals next week.

    Andreans help the community, one can at a time

    On February 4, a team of 10 determined Andreans headed to the Good Shepherd Mission in downtown Toronto to help sort through “tons” of donated food.
