From Stubble to Success: SAC Team Fundraises for Movember
Movember has wrapped up, and the SAC team of Mo Bros has bid farewell to the mustaches they proudly grew throughout November in support of men’s health.
The St. Andrew’s team raised more than $3,000 for men’s health initiatives during this year’s campaign.
A total of 16 students and staff members pledged to “grow a mo” and fundraise for the cause. They kicked off the month with clean-shaven upper lips and ended it sporting impressive stashes, plus a few valiant attempts!
Faculty member Will McHenry spearheaded the school initiative, which included a challenge celebrating simple activities that promote mental well-being, such as encouraging students to share what helps them unwind. The Mo Bros also held a bake sale in support of the campaign.
Movember is a leading charity aimed at changing the face of men’s health: mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Since 2003, Movember has funded over 1,320 men’s health projects worldwide, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research, and transforming the way health services reach and support men.
The Movember Foundation donation pages are still active, and contributions can be made to the SAC team here.
