Curling Saints Split Games with Bayview Glen School

SAC's curling teams split two games with Bayview Glen School on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at the Royal Canadian Curling Club in Toronto.
The Boys Division team skipped by Hale Lee had enough rocks in the house in the sixth end to potentially tie the match, but an experienced BVG skip snuck their stone closer to the button for a 7-2 BVG victory. Hale made some excellent draws in the second and fourth ends to earn SAC's two points, and call-up Axel Ravera joined regular team members Harry Zhao and Jacob Crocker in providing an exciting game.
On the Open Division sheet, skip Kevin Kuan worked with call-ups Mike Chen, Nova Schmidt, and Eddie Hao to recover from losing the first end and slowly pull ahead over the next three ends. Kevin's multiple raises and Mike's takeout in the second end, a double-takeout by Nova in the fourth end, and good stone placement by Eddie in the fifth end, helped keep SAC competitive. BVG tied the game in the final end, but SAC earned the 6-5 victory with Kevin's draw into the house during the skips' tie-breaking throws.
With half of both teams' regular members out of the line-up because of other commitments or late holiday returns, special thanks are extended to the development squad players who stepped forward to represent St. Andrew's College in inter-school competition.
Well done, curlers!
