The U14 boys took on Hillfield Strathallan College (HSC) in a 5th v. 6th matchup Saturday morning. While the Saints got off to a rocky start, Daniel Kraik's next-level serving helped SAC mount a big comeback to take the first set 25-23.
In the second and third sets, the Saints made some adjustments within their hitting and serving placement and capitalized on HSC's weak passing game.
Second set: SAC 25 - HSC 9
Third set: SAC 25 - HSC 21
It was great to see every player get a chance to work through their mistakes and communicate a bit more effectively than past games. Michael Gyles was a force at the net and Jack Cordingley made some great reads in the backcourt.
MVP of the game goes to Daniel Kraik for rebounding as well as he did after some shaky moments early in the first set. Well done.
On to Royal St. George’s College for the playoffs on Wednesday after an exhibition match against St. Pat's Catholic School on Monday.
