Varsity Baseball split a pair

The Varsity Baseball Saints defeated the Pickering Trojans 11-8 this yesterday morning in Ajax at the Pan-Am Fields.
Brayden Byers earned the start and was solid on the mound. Competing hard against a very deep and talented lineup.
Offensively, significant contributions from several boys throughout the lineup sparked the 11-run output. Of note, Nicholas Canade and Robbie Cranston each contributed two hits.
In the afternoon, the Varsity Baseball Saints dropped the second half of a double-header 12-7. The result means the Saints split the day with the Trojans.
The boys in-between games strategy of crushing half-wheels of ‘za’ from Pizzaville appeared to backfire as we looked sluggish and committed several poor base running errors. One noteworthy moment was a bases-loaded clearing triple crushed into the left centre gap by Tristan Hicks.
Next up for the 'boys of summer' is the CISAA semi-final vs. UCC on Wednesday.
