Systems Architect and Network Administrator

We invite applications for a full-time opportunity in the role of Systems Architect and Network Administrator reporting to the Director of Information Technology. This role will directly support the start-up function at our partner school, St. Anne’s School.
The Systems Architect and Network Administrator is responsible for the daily operation of our campus network, data centre, Microsoft 365 administration, and network security. This will include planning network upgrades and carrying out new installations at our partner school St. Anne’s School. The Systems Architect and Network Administrator will ensure that the systems are running optimally and anticipate and address system threats.  Responsibilities will further include managing the local area network and internet connection, ensuring all network and communication hardware and software is properly configured and running the latest patches, service packs, and versions. The Systems Architect and Network Administrator will maintain the wireless network and data cabling and arrange for new installations as required. A full job description is available.
Candidates are required to hold a degree in an Information Technology field with a designation as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). The ideal candidate will have three years of experience managing MS Windows server, Office 365, VMWare, server hardware, backup, firewall, email, spam filter and supporting network infrastructure and managing networks, installing, and maintaining server hardware.  Candidates must demonstrate the ability to research, learn, install, and test complex computer/network systems, and a clear understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, and network segmentation.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively within the IT department and with faculty and staff within the school. Candidates must illustrate strong problem-solving and prioritization skills.
