Winter term academic achievement recognized

Academic achievement was celebrated in both the Upper and Middle schools this month.

An assembly for the Upper School was held in Ketchum Auditorium on March 29 to celebrate academic success in the winter term.

Head of School Kevin McHenry prefaced the awarding of ties and pins by congratulating the students on their patience and resilience as we end a second year of the pandemic. He highlighted the full slate of events planned for the spring term, including such favourites as the Wellington Dinner, the semi-formal dance this weekend, and the parade season.

Michael Paluch, Deputy Head of School, Academics, said he’s also looking toward an exciting final term.
“We are one step away from some sense of normalcy,” Mr. Paluch said.

He encouraged the students to set a mindfulness intention to listen: listen to the musicians who performed during the assembly, listen to the news from around the world, listen to each other.

Middle School students had their Academic Assembly prior to March Break, on March 8.
“I am so proud of the academic accomplishments made by our youngest Andreans,” stated Trevor Biasi, Director of Middle School.

“The students worked toward achieving their personal best in learning skills and grade averages. While students walked away with some note-worthy hardware, it is important that they stay focused and committed to academic excellence as they enter the final term.”
