SAC Mo Bros join Movember campaign

Movember is over for another year, and the SAC team of Mo Bros has shaved the stashes they grew during the month of fundraising.

Our student and teacher participants started November with freshly mowed upper lips and finished the month with full stashes (plus a few valiant attempts!).

The team raised awareness for prostate and testicular cancer while raising nearly $6,500 for the charity.
“Despite some wicked mustaches being hidden by masks, this year’s Movember campaign forged on with a focus on men’s health. In addition to prostate and testicular cancer, the Movember committee wanted to highlight the importance of mental wellness, encouraging Andreans to support their brothers while providing access to professional Mental Health resources if needed,” says Trevor Coll, an Arts Associate and one of the co-ordinators of this year’s school campaign.

“As the landscape of men’s health evolves, so must the way we approach it.”

The SAC Movember team and Arts Council put on a “MoShow” in Staunton Gallery on Nov. 26 that featured live music and offered Movember masks and merchandise for sale.

St. Andrew’s sits in seventh place in the Wispy Lip High School Challenge.

The mission of the Movember Foundation is to save and improve men’s lives through projects focused on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention.
