The week leading up to the MacPherson Hockey tournament is filled with spirited activities sure to build excitement for the Friday evening puck drop.
Students will be taking part in a week-long puck scavenger hunt starting today. Everyone at the School can sport their favourite hockey jerseys on Thursday. The pre-tournament fun gears up Friday with clan ball-hockey in the morning and a pep rally in Ketchum Auditorium in the afternoon. Friday is also spirit day with students and staff encouraged to wear as much red and white as possible.
The Varsity Hockey Saints enter the 37th annual tournament as defending champions.
Teams in attendance this year are Edge School (Alberta), Cégep André-Laurendeau (Quebec), Shattuck-St. Mary’s (Minnesota), Northwood School (New York), Boston Advantage (Massachusetts), Culver Academy (Indiana), and Victory Honda (Michigan).
The weekend tournament runs January 31 to February 2 with most games being played at the La Brier Family Arena on campus and some at the Magna Centre and the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex
during divisional play. The medal rounds on Sunday will be played on home ice. Click here

The 7 p.m. game on Friday will be attended by the entire school community along with parents, Old Boys, and many friends of SAC. Don’t forget to wear your red and white to cheer on the Saints! Please remember to help support the Aurora Food Pantry by donating a non-perishable food item, or two, on your way into the arena.
The Varsity Saints won’t be the only Andreans battling it out on the ice: a pair of Old Boy games will take place Saturday afternoon, one for under-40 and one for over-40. Old Boys have also been invited to compete against one another on the basketball court.
