U14 Saints battle top-ranked Crestwood

The U14 Hockey Saints began 2020 in a tilt with the number one team in the league, Crestwood Prep.

Boasting an impressive lineup of young stars and a goalie that has not impressed people in this way since the likes of Matthew Galajda ‘15, it promised to be a tough matchup.
The Saints came out a little flat. Goaltender Nick Belmonte held them in the game throughout but certainly was a rock in the first period. Despite being outplayed, the Saints found themselves tied 2-2 heading into the second period.
Unfortunately, costly mistakes led to numerous odd-man rushes and Nick was often left to fend for himself. In the end, Crestwood was too solid on this day and capitalized on the Saints’ mistakes. However, the good news is that there were some valuable lessons learned, and the U14 Saints will continue to work hard to improve.
