U16 Basketball defeat the Blues

The U16 Basketball Saints headed down to UCC to play the Blues, or better yet, to give “the Blues” to UCC.
Following the chaos and madness of the First Basketball overtime game, the gym had to be cleared and cleaned. The first quarter was back and forth with both squads lighting it up at the offensive end. After one, it was 19-15 for UCC.
Inspired by the afternoon trade by Toronto Blue Jay President and CEO, Mark Shapiro, his son finished the half with three “and-ones” and eight points.
Down 32-25, SAC refused to rebound in the second quarter and jacked up the first open look they saw with little success. An exasperated coach spoke clearly and directly about commitment to pressure defence and calm consistent execution offensively.
Learning from their mistakes and listening to their coach, the third saw the Saints at their best as they overwhelmed UCC outscoring them 23-9 in the quarter. Playing passionate and committed, they played eight incredible minutes.
The fourth was a diligent and smart quarter of clock management and solid defence.
