Grade 12 Business Studies students in the McEwen Leadership Program have been hard at work this past week preparing for applying their business knowledge to the real world.
Last week, the students participated in a Social Impact Entrepreneurship workshop facilitated by Ellen Martin from SoJo. The students learned about various business models of positive social impact, and then explored and developed action plans to incorporate positive social impact strategies into their own entrepreneurial business ideas.
Monday, they completed a full day Executive Presence training workshop presented by Corporate Class Inc. Topics included networking, interview preparation, conversational skills, online image and personal brand development, and even dining etiquette!
The students will be putting all of the above skills to the test on December 11th, when they present their entrepreneurship venture plan ideas to the entire SAC community and guest judges in the Staunton Gallery at the 8th annual McEwen Entrepreneurship Fair. The event serves as a culminating task for a large project based learning initiative in which the students are exploring the driving question "what good or service should be introduced to the marketplace to fill a gap and create consumer demand?"
