This past weekend seven St. Andrew’s students participated in the annual DECA Provincial Competition. The boys tested their business prowess by solving case studies and presenting Dragons’ Den-like pitches to real world professionals.
Regardless of the results, the boys gained valuable business experience they can use in their future career paths.
Within the group, one individual was able to rise above his competitors. Grade 11 student Steven Du competed in Restaurant & Food Service Management. In this event, he completed two case studies and an exam. In the end, Steven received four medals, a plaque, and he placed second in his event. This earned him a spot to represent DECA Ontario at the ICDC Competition in Anaheim, Calif., this April.
Congratulations Steven and to the rest of the boys that competed this year. You should all be proud of your hard work!
