Middle School students complete readathon challenge

On Friday, Jan. 20, 11 Middle School students settled into the library’s comfortable couches to participate in our inaugural readathon. The purpose of this event was to celebrate reading and to bring together some of the most committed SAC bibliophiles.

To begin the day, each student set a goal for the number of pages they could read over the 12-hour event. Head Prefect Tinaye Ngorima and Deputy Head Prefect Tony He helped us break up stretches of silent reading by sharing their favourite books.

We also enjoyed some literature-based trivia games and challenges.

The most exciting part of the day was a special Harry Potter-themed banquet in Cole Hall. The students were treated to butterbeer, gillyweed, and other scrumptious dishes while they watched the first film of the series.
It was a pleasure to host this event in our beautiful Towers Library space, and we hope to recreate the magic again next year.
