SAC Soccer Blanks Ridley, Off to Ohio Showcase on the Weekend

We hosted a very successful SAC Soccer Fall Showcase, before jumping back into CISAA league action on Wednesday — with a bang!

The 1st Soccer Saints dictated the tempo from the opening whistle and cruised to a 4-0 victory over visiting Ridley College.

SAC midfielder Quintin Roy ’23 (pictured) netted a brace, after his co-captain, Issa Abdu ’24 opened the scoring with a smashing volley at the 18-minute mark.

Matvey Semochkin ’25
also got on the board after a composed series of 1- and 2-touch passes before Roy cut it back across the goal for the tap-in.

Standout performances also came from new boy Fede Escobar Vargas ’27, who pulled the strings in the middle of the park, while senior Marcus Marek Tortorella ‘23 continues to settle and make an impact at his new right back role.

On Oct. 21, the Saints will travel south of the border to Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio for the Midwest Prep Showcase. On Oct. 22, SAC 1st Soccer takes on Immaculate Heart Central, before a Sunday tussle with Northwood School.
