Four SAC Soccer Saints Sign!

After leading the St. Andrew’s College 1st Soccer team to an undefeated CISAA season, four graduating Saints signed their letters of intent and officially announced their university soccer destinations.

Midfielder Owen Bradbury (pictured left) is off to the U Sports finalist Carleton Ravens, with goalkeeper Ronan Woodroffe (second from right) also staying north of the border with the UBC Okanagan Heat. Winger Ali Gharib (second from left) is off to the University of Dayton, with goalkeeper Adam Mallalieu (right) just five hours west at Washington University in St. Louis.

Bradbury (Carleton University), SAC’s co-captain and a four-year starter, was the vocal leader of this year’s squad. He started in both the midfield and at centre-back while also contributing seven goals, including two highlight-reel free kicks.

Woodroffe (UBC Okanagan), also a four-year starter, was rock solid in goal and showed off his feet on a number of occasions, scoring six times when he had an opportunity to play out on the wing.

Deceptive attacker Gharib (University of Dayton) had another great year at SAC, including a goal and an assist in the Saint’s 2-0 CISAA final win over St. Mike’s. The Kenyan-native finished the fall with a team-leading nine goals and claimed Most Valuable Player honours.

Mallalieu (Washington University in St. Louis) was a leader by example both on and off the pitch. He also earned four shutouts for SAC and represented the Saints incredibly well as the starting goalkeeper for the Barbados U20 national team in November.

Still to make their commitments are centre-back and co-captain Ethan Hart, and fullback and 2021 Most Improved Player Andrew Jung.

Go Saints!
