ACPlus showcase highlights amazing after-school activities

Upper School students were treated to a showcase of the Arts/Co-Curricular Plus offerings from the first term as inspiration for boys signing up for the next session of this popular after-school option.

The elective program offers a variety of activities allowing participants to study music, learn to cook, and develop skills in areas such as debating, robotics, and public speaking. The overwhelming interest in this elective program proves students are eager to learn, even when class is not in session.

The Term 1 ACPlus session was comprised of 32 activities with well over 400 boys signed up, representing nearly 90 per cent of the Upper School population. Some activities were survival cooking, video production, pizza making, paddle carving, guitar, Andrean Investors, and Art of Chess.

The session ended on Nov. 18, and the following day, students hosted a showcase of their accomplishments in Staunton Gallery to inspire other boys to sign up. Students perused displays of origami, knitting, ceramics, robotics, rocketry, ukulele, and landscape painting. They lined up to taste-teste some homemade chicken soup.

The second term of ACPlus will start on Nov. 25.
