Six straight matches unbeaten for SAC Soccer

Last week, the 1st Soccer team wrapped up a perfect CISAA regular league schedule and battled to a hard-fought friendly draw.

On Wednesday, it took the Saints just sixty seconds to get on the scoreboard as they cruised to a 7-3 win over St. John’s Kilmarnock. SAC now awaits the winner of the East Division, which will decide their CISAA championship final match-up in November.

Against visiting SJK, Owen Bradbury ’22 chipped the keeper from 30 yards out to open the scoring, and it was senior Ronan Woodroffe ‘22 who netted a hat-trick to lead SAC. Bradbury grabbed another in the second half, with Nat Bannister ‘22 (pictured) and Ethan Hart ’22 adding singles.

The Saints followed that win with a wet 1-1 draw on Saturday versus ANB Futbol. Visiting ANB controlled the first 20 minutes and had SAC on their heels before the Saints found their second gear. ANB grabbed last in the opening half, just moments after Marcus Marek-Tortorella ‘23 rung a shot off the crossbar from close range.

SAC continued to charge forward in the second half, which included finding two more crossbars before Bannister cut a pass back to Woodroffe for a tap-in to tie the game.
