SAC TODAY wraps up for a sixth season

The eighth episode of SAC TODAY is described as “jam-packed and super-sized,” and it certainly lives up to this billing.

It’s the final episode of Season 6 and the Broadcast Journalism students do a fantastic job capturing the rollercoaster year – literally adding a rollercoaster in the background of the intro! Check it out here.

Hosts Lochlan McTeague ’21 and Ty White ’21 follow this up with a more serious talk of the approval of the vaccine for young people aged 12 to 17 and encouraged eligible boys to get their shot.

Lucas Fong ’22, a jack.org Council member, provides some studying and time-management tips to help students stay focused as they head into exams. He also urged students who are struggling with mental health issues to reach out for help.

Blake Iezzi ’22 gives a recap of the Focus Festival of the Arts and offers highlights of the drama, music, arts, and more that was broadcast virtually over three days in early May.

Dante Gallo ’21 provides an overview of the Middle School News project. The boys researched, wrote scripts, filmed, used a green screen, and edited with help from the Broadcast Journalism class to produce a 10-minute video.

The episode revisits the announcement of the 2021-2022 Prefects in a segment hosted by current Prefect, Braeden Donnelly ’21. “We’ve had so much fun this year and couldn’t be more proud to represent such an amazing student body,” he says before introducing the 14 incoming student leaders.

Jonathan Shen ’22 is president of the Social Justice Council, and he shares part of an Asian heritage roundtable with some SAC faculty members.

Lochlan and Ty were back at the Sports Desk and touched on news from the NHL, NBA, MLB, NFL, and UEFA.
Next up, Class of 2021 student Ben Goring speaks with fellow grads to find out about their post-SAC plans. He encourages Andreans to check out the @sacgrads Instagram for updates.

Stay tuned right to the end for a series of predictions on where grads will end up. Very funny and well worth the wait.
