Eight boys named to 2021-2022 Middle School Council

Prefaced by a talk on the importance of kindness, humility, and courage, the Middle School Council for the 2021-2022 school year was announced.

Dave Stewart, Coordinator, Student Engagement and Wellness, hosted the morning announcement over Zoom today (May 13) as boys and faculty members waited for the eight names to be read.

“When you lead, you need to lead with kindness, compassion, humility, purpose, and courage, and that is what I hope you can embrace,” Mr. Stewart said.

Before the announcement was made, Head of School, Kevin McHenry, cautioned that the 13 boys who applied but were not named to the leadership position were in good company, as many students elected as Prefects were not successful in their bid to serve on the MS Council.

“If you don’t get named today, it gives you further motivation,” Mr. McHenry said. “There’s a long journey ahead of you.”

Trevor Biasi, Assistant Director of Middle School, then read the names of the upcoming Middle School Council members (in random order):

•    Clayton Yang
•    Dante Ferri
•    Clinton Lau
•    Jayden Leung
•    Ethan Meretsky
•    Steve Wong
•    Sihan Guo
•    Parker Bifolchi

Their primary role as a council is to ensure a high-spirited, fun, and safe environment where all boys are accepted and encouraged to flourish. As a council, the students meet with a faculty facilitator once a week and organize events that promote and celebrate Middle School passions.
