Winter term academic achievement recognized

Academic achievement was celebrated in both the Upper and Middle Schools this week.

Assemblies were held Thursday, March 11, to celebrate academic success in the winter terms. Middle School students took turns with their assemblies happening by grade cohort.

Grade 5 boys attended their assembly in Memorial Chapel, followed by one Grade 6 class in the chapel and the other Grade 6 students participating through a webinar in their classroom. Grades 7 and 8 followed that format, with one class in the chapel and the others attending via webinar from their classrooms. The students on SACFlex were also in attendance virtually from home.

The Grades 9 and 10 assembly was broadcast into their classrooms through Zoom in the morning. The Grades 11 and 12 Zoom assembly was in the afternoon and hosted by Director of Academics, Michael Paluch, with Coordinator of Student Engagement and Wellness, David Stewart, reading the land acknowledgement. Head Boy, Paul Petrozza, also spoke in the webinar, as did Assistant Head of School, Courtenay Shrimpton, mentioning the Most Improved students for each grade, and Coordinator of Student Life, Jamie Inglis, reading the Head of School Honour Roll.

The Prefects were in attendance in Memorial Chapel during the afternoon assembly and were presented with their pins by Mr. Stewart.
