Visual Arts Festival a showcase of student creativity
It was a feast for the eyes at St. Andrew’s as more than 100 top visual arts students from independent schools spent a day immersed in creative pursuits.
SAC hosted the CIS Ontario Visual Arts Festival on January 15. Along with the students, we welcomed eight guest artists who led workshops in a variety of mediums. Among these guests were Old Boys, Alec Mulder ’14, Ricky Reininger ’04, and Chris Roberts ’87.
Along with morning and afternoon artist workshops, we hosted a university fair featuring some of Ontario’s top art and design post-secondary institutions and interactive displays. According to festival organizer, Matt Wyatt, SAC’s Upper School Visual Arts teacher,

The is the third year for this visual arts extravaganza. The first two festivals were hosted by Trafalgar Castle School in Whitby, Ont. Next year, the festival is slated to move to Appleby College in Oakville, Ont.
