To kick off this week’s food drive, Shanika and Andrew, two 360°Kids representatives, presented the mission of their organization to the Upper School, as well as the influence St. Andrew’s College has had on homeless adolescents in the Greater Toronto Area.
They illustrated the importance of food donations for sustaining the 360°Kids shelter.
At SAC, meals are not a concern, but hundreds of homeless children in the Toronto area must worry about eating before anything else, such as going to school, playing sports, or spending time with friends.
In addition to supporting this week’s food drive, 360°Kids has expressed great interest in working with the Outreach Council to promote more fundraisers and events in the years to come.
The food drive continues until Friday, April 27. Students are asked to bring their donations of non-perishable and canned food to Staunton Gallery before the start of school.
