Community Scholarship Program

The D. Bruce Macdonald Scholarship is open to day student applicants in York Region in grades 5, 6, 7 and 9. One merit-based scholarship is available per grade. Awards are set at  $20,000. Scholarships are renewable through graduation, provided the student excels in all facets of the School’s mission. ****Please note that the scholarships have been awarded for the 2018-2019 academic year.

The Rev. Dr. D. Bruce Macdonald is St. Andrew’s College’s longest-serving Headmaster (1900-1935), as well as the visionary who led the School to the Town of Aurora in 1926. The College celebrated 90 years in Aurora in 2016, so we are giving back to the community by investing in the education of local students. It was Headmaster Macdonald’s vision to develop men of strong and well-rounded character and to this day the College continues to follow his ideologies, which underpins our present day mission: “the development of the complete man, the well-rounded citizen.”

This scholarship will be awarded to boys demonstrating excellence in academics, character, leadership, co-curricular activities (athletics and/or arts) and community service. Based on the merit of their overall application and submitted essay, successful candidates will be notified by April 30, 2019.
