Upper School students were treated to a showcase of the Arts/Co-Curricular Plus offerings from the first term as inspiration for boys signing up for the next session of this popular after-school option.
Remembrance Day is always a special occasion at St. Andrew’s College, and this year the students were treated to a week of guest speakers, services on the Quad, and a remembrance mission to visit the graves of veterans.
A group of Grade 10 Outdoor Leadership students recently completed a four-day mountain biking trip. They mountain biked in beautiful but very wet conditions, built fires, navigated, threw axes, played manhunt, and generally had a great time.
Our first Pride Week, Oct. 18-22, is one more step toward providing a safe and supportive space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, queer, questioning (LGBTQ2+) members of the Andrean community and beyond. The week's events also spoke to straight ally students and staff, ensuring all people on campus are charged with creating a safe place for everyone.
Every year, St. Andrew’s students participate in fundraising events to support surrounding communities. This year, students will be participating in the virtual Break The Silence - Step in My Shoes virtual walk to raise funds to support the services and programs offered by Yellow Brick House for women and children impacted by violence and abuse.
Perfect weather graced the Thanksgiving Prayer Circle on the Quad this year, and warm sunshine shone through the trees, dappling the bright green grass as students stood in respectful silence during the morning service.
The SASSAW 2021 expedition to Temagami in Northern Ontario was a tremendous success. After cancelling the trip in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions, SAC was committed to running the trip, “come pandemics or high water,” both of which we dealt with on the journey.
