Your First and U16 swim teams were very strong and determined at their third meet of the season on Wednesday.
Led by co-captains Settino and Badali, our boys were challenged in races, that for many, were swum for the first time. The 200 freestyle and 100IM really pushed the boys on mental toughness and focus.
Swimmer of the meet was Zachary Chua, winning all 5 of his events (200 Freestyle, 200IM, 100 Breaststroke, 200MR and 4x100Fr.Relay).
Our Jr. Boys swept the podium, 1st ( Tyler Chan), 2nd (Alex Ventin), and 3rd (Liam Trnik) in the Jr. 200 Freestyle.
Tyler Chan also took 1st in the 100IM and 2nd in the 50 breaststroke, as well as 2nd in the 200MR with teammates Liam Trnik, Alex Ventin and Leonard Chen.
Third place in the Jr. 200 Medley Relay went to Matthew Deo, Alexander Jones, Richard Rong and Ahmed Shakih.
Our Senior Boys took third in the 100 breaststroke (Eric Situ), third in the 200MR (Julian Settino (C), Eric Situ, Chris Leung, Nicholas Badali (Co-Captain) and the 200 Fr.R-Chris Leung, Osher Lee, Evgeny Makeshin and Julian Settino.
Our Open team was by far the most impressive, winning both the 200 Medley Relay (Stephen Liu, Evan Ellig, Zachary Chua and Ben Tomkinson) and the 4x100 Freestyle Relay (Stephen Liu, Ben Tomkinson, Evan Ellig, Zachary Chua), Stephen Liu placed 2nd in his 200 Freestyle and 200IM and then Zachary's triple gold (individual swims), we were very impressed.
Honorable mention goes to the boys who have been added to our list of boys under the OFSAA qualifying standards:
Matthew Situ (Jr. 50 Breaststroke)
Chris Leung (Sr. 200 Medley Relay)
Liam Trnik (100IM)
Zachary Chua (Open-200 freestyle and 200IM)
Stephen Liu ( Open-200 freestyle and 200IM)
