Two Saints capture gold at Field Lacrosse Nationals

The Team Ontario U18 team returned home with their third consecutive gold at the Men’s Field Lacrosse National Championships in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Throughout the Labour Day weekend  tournament, goals were hard to come by as Team Ontario limited their opponents to just 23 goals in five games. The St. Andrew’s lacrosse program was well represented with Jason Knox ’18 and Caleb Creasor ’18 both playing impactful roles in the championship game against British Columbia.
Jason, a commit to Hobart College, scored four goals in the gold-medal game, while Caleb, an All-Canadian selection in the tournament, was the winning goaltender in the 17-13 victory over B.C. They were awarded the First Nations Trophy, which is given to the top U18 team in the country.
Both boys were on last year’s Team Ontario U18 team, in which Jason was named an All-Canadian. This year there was an added bonus as both boys were selected to play in the first-ever National Championship All-Star game. Organizers of the tournament selected players from the competing provincial teams and put together two all-star squads to play for bragging rights.
Keep an eye out for Jason and Caleb as they suit up for the Saints 1st Lacross team in the spring.
