OFSAA Track & Field results

Congratulations to our OFSAA Track & Field athletes for their strong performances during the three-day meet in Bellville June 1-3.

Day 1

Cole Nip '20 finished 9th in the in the OFSAA midget pole vault competition. Cole tied his personal best (PB) in what was a very close competition as he jumped the same height as the 7th place finisher but had one more miss on the way up. A great start for the boys in Belleville.

Day 2
Graham Cassar '19 had an amazing early morning OFSAA experience.  After he qualified for the 100m hurdle final, he took to the triple jump runway and managed a 20cm PB jump finishing fifth overall.

Graham continued to build on his 'compete' profile. He was ranked 8th going into the hurdle finals but managed to lower his PB by an incredible 4/10 of a second to finish 5th in 14.37 - just missing out of the medals by hundredths of a second. That's two fifth places for Graham in the same day!

Cole Nip finished a bit shy of his PB in the high jump in a highly competitive field and finished his OFSAA weekend in 19th. It was a great weekend experience for Cole in both the pole vault (9th) and high jump.  Congratulations to our Midget and Junior MVPs!

Day 3
Callum Murphy '17 had a great day at the OFSAA track meet competing in two events at the same time!  He was running from long jump to pole vault competing against some of the best athletes in the province in both events.

In the end, Callum finished in 7th place in the long jump with a leap of 6.57 meters. In the pole vault, he went out at 3.80 trying to tie the school record finishing 12th.

Joseph Yazdani '17 finished his third OFSAA pole vault competition in 18th place.  Congrats to both athletes for an amazing track career at SAC.
