1st Baseball battles for first

The Varsity Baseball Saints tied the St. Michael College Kerry Blues 7-7 Monday afternoon in an exciting, intense, back-and-forth battle for first place.
Tyler Black earned the start on the mound and flashed powerful velocity and a sharp breaking ball to keep the deep and talented SMC lineup off-balance into the fourth inning.
Offensively, several players in the Saints lineup helped spark the attack. Led by David Bowen's 3-hit performance, the aforementioned Black, as well as Jack Kensit, Brayden Byers, Bill Starke, and Tristan Hicks also contributed with key hits in big moments.
Next up for the 'boys of summer' is a two-day tournament in Oshawa / Ajax on Wednesday, May 17 and Thursday, May 18.
