We invite applications for the 2023/2024 academic year at St. Andrew's College in a combined Mathematics Support/Boarding Don contract role reporting to the Deputy Head of School and the Director of Boarding. A major component of this role will include boarding house responsibilities, and a requirement of the position will be to live on campus.
As a Boarding Don, you will have the opportunity to build rapport with students outside of the classroom in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. Boarding Dons assist with delivering the boarding curriculum and provide mentorship and supervision to on-campus and off-campus activities. Accommodation and meals are provided.
The College seeks an individual with the knowledge to provide math support to students in the Upper School, including reinforcing key curriculum concepts and assisting with homework and test preparation. This may include classroom support and coverage as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education in math, experience tutoring math curriculum and may be in pursuit of, or a recent graduate of a Bachelor of Education degree. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to contribute to the many facets of school life, which will include extra-curricular responsibilities. Coaching experience would be considered an asset. Further, experience working in an overnight camp role or boarding don experience from university is preferred.
