The 36th Annual MacPherson Hockey Tournament is just around the corner and you can feel the excitement building around the School.
The crop of teams invited to this year’s tournament are among the best around the world for the age category. A quick look at the MYHockey Boys Prep School
rankings for both Canada and the U.S shows them scattered throughout the top half of the rankings.
Teams in attendance this year include Shattuck-St. Mary’s (Minnesota), Edge School (Alberta), Northwood School (New York), Boston Advantage (Massachusetts), Shawnigan Lake School (British Columbia), Salisbury School (Connecticut), and Jungadler Mannheim (Germany).
Games will be played between the La Brier Family Arena, the Aurora Community Centre, and Aurora Rec East during the divisional play, and will wrap up at La Brier for the medal rounds on Sunday. The first game starts Friday morning, for the full schedule, click here
On Friday night, the entire school community will turn the La Brier Arena into a sea of red and white as they fill the stands to cheer on the Varsity Saints against Salisbury School. If you can’t make it to the game, be sure to check out the action on our Livestream
. The opening ceremonies are always popular with an appearance by our Pipes & Drums before the Saints take the ice.
This year, we welcome back Jungadler Mannheim, a team that has the distinction of being the first non-North American team to be included in the tournament. They impressed in their debut in the MacPherson last year, taking home the silver medal after losing to Edge School in the finals.

The Varsity Saints won’t be the only Andreans battling it out on the ice: a pair Old Boy games will take place Saturday afternoon, one for under-40 and one for over-40. Old Boys have also been invited to compete against one another on the basketball court.
If that’s not enough competition, we will see students taking on staff in a hockey game Saturday as well.
The boys will start revving up for the weekend Thursday by sporting their favourite hockey jerseys. Friday is spirit day with all students and staff encouraged to wear red and white.
