NCAA hockey scholarships continue to roll in, this time for grade 11 student Frankie Carogioiello.
The forward from Woodbridge is excited about his early commitment to the Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. “I knew when I walked around campus and through Goggin Arena, it was the place for me,” said Frankie. “Miami reminds me a lot of SAC, it feels like home.”
Frankie’s not the only one excited about his D1 commitment. Varsity Hockey Head Coach David Manning is elated that Frankie will continue his post-secondary education as a student-athlete. “It is a great school and hockey program with a storied tradition of producing professional players,” Coach Manning said.
Frankie credits SAC for helping him reach his NCAA goals, saying that the School has taught him the importance of education. “Hard work and dedication in school has transferred to my on- and off-ice discipline and work ethic,” explained Frankie. “This made me more determined to reach for my goals and move forward from here to be an exceptional hockey player, but more importantly, a respectful person and a great teammate.”
While hockey is a big part of Frankie’s life, he also considered Miami because of its respected business program. He hasn’t officially decided on his major, but he is interested in the business stream.
“We are expecting him to have a top-notch two years for us with the First team,” said Coach Manning. And that’s just where you will find Frankie these days – on the ice at the La Brier Family Arena.
