    Kevin McHenry joined the faculty in 2002 as Director of Academic Studies and Director of the Upper School, and became St. Andrew’s eighth head of school in 2009. He earned his BBA in Business(Hons.) from Wilfrid Laurier University, a B.Ed. from The University of Western Ontario, and an M.Ed. from the University of Toronto. Kevin’s additional qualifications include his Principal’s Qualification Program from York University and a diploma in Independent School Leadership from the CAIS Institute. He began his professional career in Business Studies at Thornlea Secondary School in York Region. Kevin moved on to become the Head of Business Studies at Huron Heights Secondary School and then Vice Principal at Newmarket High School, both in York Region. He has coached both the Varsity Hockey and Baseball teams to CISAA Championships. Kevin lives on campus with his wife, Karan, and their three children: William '18, Caden '21, and Hadley.

    Paul Bedard ’79 rejoined the faculty at St. Andrew’s in September 2012 as Director of Athletics and Upper School French teacher. Paul graduated from SAC in 1979 and went on to obtain a BA from Bishop’s University in Quebec. He taught at Ridley College in St. Catharines where he also coached hockey, tennis and soccer. From 1996-2000 Paul was Director of Athletics at St. Andrew’s College, and Housemaster of Sifton House from 1997-2003. From 2003 to 2012 he was Director of Athletics at Villanova College in King City, Ont. Paul’s connection to SAC follows a strong family tradition. His father, Bob, joined the faculty in 1972 as Assistant to the Headmaster and to teach French, going on to serve as Headmaster from 1981-1997; his brothers Mark ’77, Peter ’83, and Michael ’81 are alumni; and his wife, Jane, is Facilities Coordinator at the School. Paul and Jane have two daughters and live on Masters' Row.

    Randi Berman has been a Middle School art teacher since 2000. In September 2014, she assumed the role of Arts Coordinator, and in 2015, she became the coordinator for the Middle School Community Giving program. Before joining SAC, Randi graduated from the Ontario College of Art and worked in an art department for a clothing manufacturer. Randi is involved with the Arts Council in Upper School, runs the Middle School Visual Arts program on Tuesdays, and teaches art classes to Upper School students on Thursday afternoons during ACPlus. Randi organizes the Middle School Arts Day each winter, where local artists spend a day instructing the students on different art mediums and techniques. She lives in Newmarket with her husband and three children.

    Trevor Biasi started teaching in the Upper School of St. Andrew's College in 2004. He has a BA (Hons.) from Wilfrid Laurier University, a B.Ed. from Western University, and an M.Ed. from the University of Nipissing. Trevor moved into the role of Director of Middle School in July 2021 after serving as Assistant Director of the Middle School eight years. Trevor has an extensive background in coaching and is Head Coach of Varsity Baseball and U12 Hockey. Trevor lives in Uxbridge with his wife, Paula, and their children, Robin and Reid '27.

    Carolyn Bilton started teaching in the Middle School of St. Andrew's College in 2004 covering a maternity leave. After a year teaching French Immersion in the Peel Board, and a year travelling through Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji, she returned to the Upper School in 2007. She has a BA(Hons.) from the University of Waterloo and a B.Ed. from Brock University. Since her arrival, she has taught French, history, geography, and computer science. She currently coaches Sr. Cross-Country and the MS Alpine Ski teams, and is the coordinator of the Extended French program.

    Geoff Brennagh '94 joined the faculty in 2008 as a science and math teacher in the Upper School. No stranger to SAC, he is an alumnus of the School having attended for seven years. Geoff earned his B.Sc. from the University of Guelph and his B.Ed. from the University of Windsor. Prior to returning to SAC, Geoff taught science and math for seven years at Da Vinci International School in Antwerp, Belgium, and was a player/assistant hockey coach for Olympia, Heist op den Berg, competing in the Belgian Elite League. Geoff has helped coach the Varsity Hockey team to seven CISAA Championships, as well as three MPHL and two NISIC titles. He was assistant coach on the Varsity Football team for several years. Geoff lives on campus with his wife, Helen, sons Oscar and Jacob, and dog Franklin.

    Ryan Bryce is an Old Boy of St. Andrew's from the Class of 2005. He was a Prefect, member of Varsity Volleyball, Hockey, and Golf, and member of Smith House. He earned a B.Comm (Hons.) from Queen's University in 2009. Ryan joined St. Andrew's in 2010 as a member of the Advancement Team and continues to work specifically in the areas of Annual Giving & Advancement Services. In the winter term, he coaches the U16B Hockey Team and enjoys playing in the weekly staff and Old Boy hockey games.

    Jon Butcher has a B.Sc. in Honours Physics from the University of Waterloo and an honours B.Ed from the University of Toronto. Having taught science and physics for ten years in the public system, he is now in his 23rd year at St. Andrew’s, currently in the roles of physics teacher and Associate Director of IT, Data Innovation and Administration. A major aspect of this latter role is the implementation of the Edsby LMS and oversight of academic dataflow. Also active in the Information Technology Integration (ITi) Committee, Jon is a long-time advocate and supporter of technology in education. Jon is Head Coach of 1st Rugby and a former club and university player, twice an OUA champion, an OUA All-Star, and a current Ontario referee. Always looking for new ways to develop and promote his favourite game, the SAC Rugby program has a record of excellence that includes 23 championship seasons in the past 56 years.

    Michael Carroll joined the SAC faculty in 2008, teaching chemistry and environmental science in the Upper School. He completed his B.Sc. and BBA at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, and B.Ed. from Queen's University. He also has extensive coaching credentials and experience, including working as an Offensive Assistant with the Hamilton Tiger Cats and as Receiver Coach at Queen's University. This year, Mike is the Offensive Co-ordinator for 1st Football and Head Coach of Junior Varsity Basketball. He lives on campus as Housemaster of Memorial House with his wife, Sarah, son, Mackenzie, and their goldendoodle, Fenway.

Prior to this she worked for more than 27 years in the newspaper business, starting out as a reporter covering crime, education, and politics. She expanded into newspaper and online editing as well as layout and design of both newspapers and magazines.

    Michael Chadsey joined the faculty at St. Andrew's in September 2007 as Head of Mathematics in the Upper School. He has a Master of Education from OISE at the University of Toronto, an Honours Specialist in Mathematics, and completed his BA and teacher's education at Simon Fraser University. Michael has previously taught Advanced Qualifications courses at OISE, and before working at St. Andrew's, he was a senior math teacher and digital literacy coordinator at Sir William Mulock High School in Newmarket. Michael is a faculty sponsor for the Guitar Club in ACPlus, a member of MEDIC, duty supervisor in Flavelle House, and coaches SAC soccer and lacrosse teams. Additionally, Michael is the father of an Old Boy, and he was the administrator of Summer School from 2012-2020.

    Barbara Chambers joined St. Andrew’s College in 2016 as a member of the Business Office managing student billing and accounts receivable. Barbara came to St. Andrew’s after a three-year stint in England working for the Buckinghamshire County Council at Naphill and Walters Ash School where she also volunteered for the Naphill Village Fete Committee. Barbara also spent 10 years working for Loblaws Companies Limited and has spent many years volunteering with the 94 Squadron Newmarket Air Cadets. Barbara graduated with a diploma in financial accounting from Centennial College. She lives in Newmarket with her husband, Mark, and two children.

    Jacky Cheung is a Certified Athletic Therapist at St. Andrew’s College. He joined St. Andrew’s as an Athletic Therapist in August 2022. He graduated from York University with a Specialized Honours Bachelors in Kinesiology and Health Sciences along with his Athletic Therapy Program Certificate. Prior to his time at St. Andrew’s College, Jacky has worked with USports athletes from a variety of sports such as Football, Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton and Ultimate Frisbee. He has also worked with the Canadian Junior National Baseball Team and various members of the Canadian National Badminton Team. In addition to his time at St. Andrew’s College, Jacky works in a multidisciplinary sports therapy clinic and is an Athletic Therapist for Woodbridge Strikers, a League 1 Ontario Soccer team. Jacky uses his manual therapy and exercise rehab skills to help his patients perform and meet their goals in sport and therapy. He is a strong believer of personal well-being through physical and mental health.

    Mario Chiodo ’13 started in the Alumni & Advancement Office in 2021 as the Alumni Relations Coordinator. As an Old Boy of SAC, Mario was an assistant head of house for Flavelle house, a Varsity Football captain and a student ambassador for the Admission team. He graduated in 2018 from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and completed the sport business management graduate program at Durham College. He previously worked for Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment, where he worked closely with both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors on various sponsorship initiatives.

    Michael Choi joined St. Andrew's College in 2009 as a consultant for international students and families. As a former international student from Korea, Michael is a graduate of St. Andrew's College from the Class of 1999. He earned his B.Sc.(Hons.) in Immunology from the University of Toronto, and has accumulated eight years of experience serving in various teaching and education consulting roles focusing on international education.

    Wendy Coates joined St. Andrew's College in 2004 after working at IBM then staying home to raise her family. She has had a varied and interesting career at the School, working within the Campus Shop, Reception, University Counselling, and Business Office. In August 2013, Wendy was hired in the Admission Department and is responsible for administrative support as well as enrolment for grades 5 and 6. Wendy has the perfect balance of "people and paperwork" in her current role as Admission Associate. Wendy lives in Aurora, is married to Steve, and they have three grown children.

    Joe Commisso joined the SAC faculty in 2013 as an English and geography teacher in the Upper School. In 2017, he began teaching geography exclusively. Joe graduated from McMaster University with an honours BA in geography and earth science and a minor in English. He earned his B.Ed from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Joe is the Head of Community Service in the Upper School, ensuring that St. Andrew's College students are given rewarding opportunities to engage in their local communities. In addition, he coaches basketball and 1st Lacrosse. While at McMaster, he was a member of the varsity lacrosse team and won a national championship in 2010.

    Fraser Cowell joined the faculty in 1989 as an English teacher in the Upper School. He has a BA(Hons.) from St. Mary’s University and a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto. Prior to becoming a teacher, Fraser worked as an editor with Houghton Mifflin in the Elementary Language Arts Textbook division. He has taught at almost every grade level, and currently teaches grade 9 and 11 English. Fraser has participated in a number of SAC’s international trips to Nepal, England and Kenya. He is also involved as a Coach of the Varsity Volleyball and U14 Lacrosse teams. In terms of co-curricular activities, he manages the Silver Star Cadet program and Flavelle House Company, and organizes SLAMfest poetry competitions. Fraser lives in Aurora with his wife Tracey and their two children, Dylan and Bryn.

    Lawrence DeMello joined the faculty of St. Andrew’s College in September 2012 as a math teacher and has since transitioned to computer science and engineering. He brings a wealth of experience with him, having spent 12 years teaching in the independent system. While at TMS School, Lawrence was a key leader in the areas of student life, athletics, university counselling, and the Advanced Placement program. He has coached many teams at St. Andrew's including soccer, basketball, track & field, rugby, and softball. Lawrence is a graduate of the math program at Waterloo University, the Queen’s B.Ed. program, and received his master’s degree in mathematics from York University. Lawrence’s exceptional leadership experiences and passion for student success are certainly appreciated by SAC students. He lives in Maple with his wife, Daniella, and their three sons: Lucas ’21, Mathias 23, and Marcus ’25.

    Michele Derwin assumed the role of Middle School Athletics Coordinator in September 2017. She joined the SAC faculty in 2005 as a science teacher in the Middle School. She has a bachelor’s in kinesiology from Acadia University and a B.Ed. from Nipissing University. Michele teaches grades 5, 7, and 8 health and physical education as well as grade 7 science.

    Colby Dockerty joined the  Middle School in September 2015 to teach grade 6 math, science, language and PhysEd. Prior to this he taught grade 8 for three years at Nobleton Public School. Colby holds a bachelor's degree with honours in philosophy (minor in history) from the University of Guelph, and a master's in the science of education from D'Youville College in Buffalo. A sports enthusiast, Colby coaches U14 Basketball and U14 Volleyball.

    Whitney Elliott joined the faculty of St. Andrew’s in 2006 as a French and geography teacher in the Middle School. She holds a BA (Hons.) from the University of Guelph and a B.Ed. from York University. Whitney is a grade 6 Core teacher, instructing in math, French, language arts, and science. Prior to joining SAC, Whitney volunteered at a school in Quebec and studied at a Language School in Trois Pistoles. She is currently the faculty coordinator for the Middle School Green Team and assists in the MS Band as an alto saxophone player. Whitney coaches U14 Volleyball and U14 Track & Field.

    Joe Foote joined the faculty at St. Andrew’s in September of 2008 as Head of the Health and Physical Education Department. He earned his honours HPE degree from Wilfrid Laurier University where he was a member of the Golden Hawks 1991 Vanier Cup Championship Football team. He went on to complete a B.Ed. in physical and health education and science at Western University. Joe also holds an AQ qualification in biology, and is an honours specialist in physical and health education. He worked in the York Region District School Board for 11 years at Richmond Hill High School and later at Bur Oak Secondary School where he was the HPE Department Head. Joe has coached junior and senior football, midget and junior basketball, midget, junior, and senior lacrosse, senior soccer, junior and senior hockey, junior and senior badminton, and junior volleyball. He has attained NCCP credentials in basketball, football, lacrosse, flatwater canoe racing, and hockey. At St. Andrew’s, Joe coaches 1st Football and U16 Hockey, and in the summer months is involved with the Gary Roberts High Performance Training Program. Joe lives in Uxbridge with his family.

    Kyle Fraser-Shoemaker joined the faculty of St. Andrew's in 2015. He is a teacher in the Canadian and World Studies Department and is an assistant head of Macdonald House. He coaches 1st Rugby and U16 Football and is a member of the School’s Leadership in Action program. Kyle is a graduate of the Teacher Education program at Brock University with additional qualifications in science, special education, English as a second language, and online teaching and learning.

    Bio
     
    Eddie Galbo is the Head of Security, coming to St. Andrew’s in 2019. He retired as a police officer with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York.  Five of his ten years as a police officer were spent as an explosives detection K9 handler in their canine unit. He has worked at high-profile events such as the Republican National Convention, U.S. Tennis Open, Dalai Lama security detail, and the 9/11 recovery efforts. After his move to Canada in 2014, Eddie was employed as a service dog trainer, training service dogs for people with mobility disabilities, and was involved in the Canines in the Classroom program that involved high school students faced with social and learning challenges, allowing them to learn to train service dogs while earning high school credits.

    Bio
     
    Anthony joined SAC's Upper School English Department in 2013. He has since been appointed to the position of Housemaster of Perrier House, a role he dutifully carries out alongside teaching English and coaching U16 Rugby and U16 Volleyball. Anthony received an honours bachelor of arts in English from McMaster University in 2009 and is a graduate of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.

    Teri Groves joined St. Andrew's College as the Associate Head of University Counselling in 2006, after working at York Region District School Board. In July 2017 she was promoted to Head of the Department. She graduated from Shaw College for Business Administration. Teri lives in Aurora with her husband, Bob, and their dog, Coby.

    Christine Harris joined St. Andrew's permanently as the School's Academic Coach and head coach for the School's aquatic programs in September of 2010. She works individually and in group sessions to help students adapt to Andrean life in academics, boarding, extra-curricular activities, sports schedules, and English Language Learners. As the aquatics lead, she coaches all three terms and continues to be the head coach for the U16, Junior Varsity, and First Swim teams, the Recreation Swim program, and the triathlon team's assistant coach. Christine came to St. Andrew's in 2003. Her career in academic coaching began under Mr. McHenry's guidance. At that time, she worked with two to eight students in the evenings while balancing her swimming career as the head coach for the Masters, Sunshine, and Variety Village teams in Toronto. Shortly after that, she was selected as the coach of record for two athletes who earned a berth on the 2004 Paralympic team and coached them in Athens, where they brought home two gold medals and two silver medals. At this time, she works with up to 30 students throughout the day and evenings. Additional SAC roles and accomplishments included: SASSAW trip to Malawi (2008), Assistant Director of the Ontario School of Piping and Drumming (Summer 2013-2014), aquatic supervisor on three Turks and Caicos SCUBA Diving Duke of Ed trips, and supervisor to many bronze and silver expeditions, and head coach for three Swimming Bermuda Training Camps. Under her guidance, the swim teams have amassed six CISAA swimming championships (2011-2017) and two OFSAA Jr. swimming championships (2016 and 2018). Christine is also the faculty facilitator for the Jack.org council at St. Andrew's. Residing in Alliston, Christine is a SUP (Stand up Paddle-Board) yoga and Modo Yoga enthusiast who continues to pursue her passions of travel, swimming and surfing, and endeavours to encourage students to strive for excellence.

    Deanna Harris joined the faculty at St. Andrew's in September 2018 as a math and French teacher in the Upper School. She received a Bachelor of Science and B.     Janice Hollett was appointed the School's Controller in January 2016. Janice is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Professional Accountant of Canada, and holds an MBA from McMaster University and completed her BA at Western University. In the past, Janice has assisted the Business Office on temporary assignments. She lives in Aurora with her husband, Bill, and sons Matthew '18, Tommy '21, and Owen '21.

    Stephen Holmes joined the St. Andrew's faculty in 2015 teaching mathematics and science in the Middle School and now teaches in the Upper School Science and Modern Languages Departments. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) from the University of Guelph, and a B.Ed. from University of Toronto (OISE). Stephen has many accolades as an elite middle distance runner including winning the 2013 Canadian Championship in the 1000-metre race, and brings his expertise to coaching the Middle School U14 and U12 Track & Field programs. In addition, he coaches the U13 Basketball team and has worked to develop the Middle School First Lego League Robotics program.

    Graham Hovius has been the Manager of SAC's La Brier Family Arena since joining SAC in June 2014. He is a Registered Recreation Facilities Supervisor and Certified Ice Technician, completing both the Recreation and Leisure Services program, as well as the Recreation Facility Management program at Seneca College. Graham was previously with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, working at Ricoh Coliseum and overseeing and supervising daily building operations in multiple facilities including BMO Field and Lamport Stadium Dome. Graham lives in Innisfil with his wife, Melissa, and their three children: Noah, Aidan and Kailyn.

    Jamie Inglis joined the faculty in 1999, teaching physics. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. from McMaster University, and a B.Ed. from York University. As the son of a former teacher and Head of House, and an Old Boy from the Class of 1991, Jamie brings a unique perspective to his role in the Upper School. Jamie is the Associate Director, Student Life and is a member of the Administration and Student Life teams. In addition, Jamie coaches U16 Football and Alpine Skiing, and works closely with the Pipes and Drums and the Upper School Music program. He is a former Head of Ramsey House and Sifton House, and lives in Newmarket with his wife, Jane, and their children, Hillary and Andrew James.

    Matthew Jaekel joined St. Andrew's in 2015. He is a member of the Business Department, teaching AP Economics and is the Assistant Head of Sifton House. Matthew earned his bachelor of management and organizational studies degree specializing in finance and his B.Ed from Western University. Before working at St. Andrew's, he worked in wealth management at CIBC Wood Gundy. Matthew is a coach in the squash and tennis programs at SAC and leads the Andrean Investors Club. He participates in the faculty environmental sustainability group and student environmental council.

    Taylor Johnston joined St. Andrew's as an Associate Faculty member in 2015, earning permanent full-time status in September 2017. He teaches in the English Department, working with Grades 9, 11, and ESL classes. Additionally, Taylor co-teaches Grade 12 Advanced Leadership alongside program-creator Lucas Madill. Outside of the classroom, he acts as a Duty Supervisor in Flavelle House, co-coordinates the Slam Poetry Festival, and leads the Film Critics Society as part of ACPlus programming. Taylor is the assistant coach of Varsity AAA Hockey and the Varsity and U16 Track & Field teams.

    Kristen Kang joined SAC as an AP economics teacher in the Upper School in September 2015. She is a graduate of the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management and holds a post-graduate diploma in Education from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. Before joining SAC, she gained industry experience by working for software, engineering, and forex companies. She also has years of AP teaching experience from her former school, PCA, in Markham, Ont. Kristen enjoys team sports and has coached U16 Squash and U16 Volleyball. Given her tremendous experience with the subject matter, commitment to school life, and careful approach to her work, she quickly gained the respect of students and faculty alike.

    Shannon Kelly joined SAC as the Director of Human Resources in October 2020, following 14 years as the Human Resources Manager at Pickering College. Shannon completed a B.A with a major in English and a minor in Women's Studies from Western University and a post-diploma program in Human Resources Management at Seneca College. Shannon is a Certified Human Resources Leader with the Human Resources Professional Association. Shannon and her husband Rob '94 have two children, Blake and Taylor.

    Bruce Keyes joined the St. Andrew’s Admission team as Associate Director of Admissions in October 2006. Prior to SAC, he spent five years at Trinity College School where he coached U16 Football, supervised residential life, and worked in the Admission Office. Bruce holds a degree in Sport and Leisure Studies from St. Lawrence University. At SAC, Bruce oversees the Scholarship and Bursary program; our Ontario Domestic Boarding Project (financial); and the student Ambassador program. He is also responsible for recruitment in Europe, Western Canada, Northern and Eastern Ontario. Bruce enjoys staying physically active and is very involved in the Central York Girls Hockey Association.

    Stephen Kimmerer joined the faculty in 1984 as an art and history teacher in the Upper School. He has a BA and B.Ed. from the University of Alberta, and previously taught at Spruce Grove in Alberta for five years before moving to Ontario. Stephen is currently the Head of the Visual Arts Department and teaches media arts and visual arts in the Upper School. For the past 15 years, he has been the Faculty Advisor for the yearbook, The Review, and has become the media arts guru, sharing his expertise with all groups and organizations throughout the SAC community. Stephen has spent over 20 years behind the bench with SAC’s Varsity, JV, and U16 squads, as well as Aurora Rep Hockey. He has also coached 1st Football, 1st Soccer, JV Soccer, U16 Soccer, 1st Badminton, and U16 Badminton. Stephen believes in giving back to his community and has spent 11 years coaching hockey and soccer in Aurora, seven years on the Board of Directors of the Aurora Youth Soccer Club. He is now the President of Sport Aurora, an organization that represents and advocates for over 41 local sport and recreation providers, and sits on the board of the Aurora Sports Hall of Fame. Stephen has two Old Boy sons: Scott ’11 and Erik ’13.

    Ben Kitagawa joined the SAC faculty in 2001 and teaches business and geography. He holds a BA from Brock University, an AIT Diploma from ITI, and a B.Ed from York University. Before joining SAC, Ben worked as a major account manager for a sportswear company and a general manager for a healthcare firm. He held the position of Head of Smith House for two years and Head of Perrier House for four. Ben was the founder and faculty advisor of the student-run SAC-TV. He coaches First Baseball and U16 Football. For the first seven years, he coached First Football, including two OFSAA championship teams in 2001 and 2003. Responsible for coaching the defensive line in 2001 and 2002, Ben took over the defensive backs from 2003 to 2007. In 2008, he volunteered to move to the U16 Football program as the defensive coordinator to help develop players and prepare them for the First Football program. He assumed the role of head coach of the junior program from 2012 until 2018. Ben has coached every level of hockey at SAC: Varsity, Junior Varsity, U16, U14, and U12. Since 2001, his teams have won two league championships and three tournament championships. The most significant was the Junior Varsity CISAA championship in 2006, where the team went undefeated against most CISAA varsity teams. Ben lives in Aurora with his wife, Arima, and their two children, George '24 and Lucy.

    Adam Kowaltschuk joined the faculty in 2003 and teaches Grade 7 and 8 geography in the Middle School. He holds a B.E.S. from the University of Waterloo, a B.Ed. from Lakehead University, and a Master's of Education from Graceland University. Adam spent three years as Assistant Head of MacDonald House before moving off campus into Newmarket's historic downtown neighbourhood. As with many geographers, Adam has travelled extensively, living and working in New Zealand, Japan, and Ghana. Adam previously served as the Grade 7 and Grade 8 Team Leader. Currently, Adam contributes to the school's MEDIC Committee, focusing on masculinity, equity, and diversity issues in a boy's school culture. Adam lives in Newmarket with his wife, Jessica, and sons, Nathan and Gavin.

    Jeff LaForge joined the faculty at St. Andrew’s College in September 2012 as an Upper School teacher of English and social science. Jeff holds an honours bachelor of arts degree with a major in history, and minor in political science and English, and a B.Ed from Ontario Institute of Studies in Education from the University of Toronto. Prior to joining SAC, Jeff worked at the University of Toronto as an academic support coordinator and assistant coach for the football team, and as an assistant support to the manager of children and youth programs. Jeff is currently an Assistant Housemaster in Macdonald house, where he lives with his wife, Julie, and daughter Hailey. Jeff's interests include football, basketball, reading, and politics. He coaches 1st Football, U16 Football, U16 Basketball, and is involved with the Model UN Club and the Holiday Heroes program.

    Scott Lewis joined the faculty in 2003 as a math teacher in the Middle School. He holds a BA from Queen’s University, an LLB from Osgoode Hall, and both a B.Ed and an M.Ed from Western University. Before starting at St. Andrew’s, Scott taught at Montcrest School in Toronto for six years. In addition to teaching mathematics, he also coaches soccer and basketball, coordinates the Middle School mathematics competitions, and teaches an online law course. Scott lives in Newmarket with his wife, Kathryn, a teacher with YRDSB; their two daughters, Rhiannon and Rebecca; and their crazy cat, Millie.

    Marcello Lio joined the faculty at St. Andrew’s College in 2019, previously teaching at Villanova College for 17 years. He graduated from York University with a Specialized Honours BA in Kinesiology and Health Sciences and earned his B. Ed from the University of Windsor. Marcello is Assistant Athletic Director, Football Director, 1st Football Head Coach, and U16A Basketball coach, and teaches math in the Upper School. Marcello has a breadth of football coaching experience, including youth, high school, university, professional, and National levels. Marcello was the head coach at the youth level with the Metro Toronto Wildcats from 2012-2016, where his teams earned both a Tyke and Atom Championship in the OMFL. In 2015, Marcello received the Metro Toronto Wildcat Coach of the Year award. He was also the head coach of the Vaughan Rebels Bantam team. Marcello began his high school coaching career at Father Henry Carr Secondary School in 2000. Intrigued by an opportunity to pioneer a new football program, he took a teaching position at Villanova College School in 2002 to kick start the school’s first-ever football program as the head football coach. Marcello has seen many of his players move on to the U Sports and NCAA level. In 2006, he took a sabbatical from Villanova College to coach professionally and served as the Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach of the Bergamo Lions in the Italian Football League. The team won the IFL championship that year. Marcello was a quarterback for York University of the Ontario Universities Athletic Association and played professionally in the German and Italian Football Leagues from 1997-2001. Marcello has been working with and developing young quarterbacks for over 20 years. At the National level, Marcello was selected as Canada’s Junior National Team Quarterback Coach and helped the Junior National Team to a silver medal in the 2014 World Junior Championships in Kuwait.

    Sean Ludwig joined the faculty in 2006 as a business teacher in the Upper School. He obtained his B.Comm. from Laurentian University, his MHK from the University of Windsor, and a B.Ed from Brock University. As the Course Director for the McEwen Leadership Program, an academic program modeled after the vision of Rob McEwen ’69, Sean provides students with the opportunity to develop leadership skills and apply them to ‘real-world’ business simulations. Sean was made Department Head, Business, in September 2017. He is also head coach of the Varsity Basketball team. Sean lives in Newmarket with his wife and SAC Middle School teacher, Whitney Elliott, and their daughters, Avery and Caris.

    Jamie MacPherson ’99 joined the faculty in 2009 and teaches Health and Physical Education and Language Arts in the Middle School. A graduate of St. Andrew’s College from the Class of 1999, Jamie earned a BA (Hons.) from Acadia University and a GDE from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Before returning to SAC, he taught history at Rothesay Netherwood School in New Brunswick and history and physical education at Emily Carr Secondary School in Vaughan.     Lucas Madill joined St. Andrew's College in September 2015 as an English and social sciences teacher in the Upper School. Lucas has a master's of science in Exercise & Sport Science (Sport Psychology) and a B.Ed. from the University of New Brunswick (UNB), where he won the Lieutenant Governor's silver medal for education. Lucas also holds a B.Ed in Kinesiology from McGill University. Lucas played hockey at McGill and UNB, and he was an academic-all Canadian at both schools. After his playing career, Lucas began coaching at UNB, where he won a USport National Championship as an assistant coach of the men's hockey team. Lucas is a certified member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA), and since 2017, he has worked for Hockey Canada as a mental performance coach for the National Under 17 and Under 18 programs. In 2018 he helped Canada's U18 team win a gold medal at the Hlinka Gretzky World Championship in Edmonton, and the following year helped the team to a silver medal in Breclav, Czech Republic. He currently lives with his wife, Christine, and their identical twins, Abbie and Marlie, in Stouffville.

    David Manning joined the faculty in 2006, having previously taught with the Eastern School District and St. Bonaventure’s College in St. John’s,N.L. David earned a BA from Colby College in Maine and a B.Ed. and Technology Education Diploma from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and has also had experience as a Youth Care Worker for the St. Francis Foundation, an organization dedicated to the development and growth of troubled teenagers. He has his master’s degree (M.Ed) in Educational Leadership. David teaches courses in Canadian civics, health and physical education, and computer science in the Upper School. He coaches 1st Soccer and 1st Hockey, and lives on campus with his wife, Nicole, daughter, Libby, and son, Levi.

Prior to working at SAC, Tanya worked in Admissions at Mount Allison University and in Residence & Student Life at Victoria University in the University of Toronto. In her role as Associate Head of University Counselling, Tanya will work closely with grade 11 and 12 students interested in applying to university within Ontario and Canada, and is looking forward to working with all Upper School students as they plan for their future beyond St. Andrew's College.

    Major Brian McCue joined St. Andrew’s in 1999 as the Deputy Commanding Officer of the Cadet Corps, Pipe Band Snare Drum Instructor, and Assistant Housemaster in Flavelle House. He holds a B.Mus.(Hons.) from The University of Western Ontario and a M.Mus. from McGill University, as well as more than 25 years of Cadet experience, most recently as Commanding Officer of the 48th Highlanders’ Cadet Corps. Arriving as a Captain in 2002, Brian was later promoted to Major, and became Commanding Officer of the #142 Highland Cadet Corps at St. Andrew’s College. He also went on to serve as Housemaster of Flavelle House for four years. In addition to his duties as CO, he has had an extensive background in the Arts, where he has been a symphony percussionist, pipe band lead drummer, and studio musician. Brian's teaching duties focus on the pipe band drummers and percussionists in the Music Department. Under Brian's tutelage, students are able to take pipe band drumming as their principal instrument for their Upper School music credit in grades 9 through 12.
    A Reserve Officer since 1988, Brian takes a special interest in the Cadet Corps program and the development of future leaders both in civilian and military paths. In addition to delivering a five-year leadership development program through the weekly Cadet program, he oversees a wide array of optional weekend activities, such as Young Drivers programs, lifeguard training, and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program. During the summer months, Brian is often leading a Cadet trip to Scotland to participate in a British Army summer camp alongside Cadets from Robert Gordon's College in Aberdeen. This year, Brian will be coaching U16 Soccer, Marksmanship and Biathlon (a combination of Marksmanship and Nordic Skiing). He and his wife Christine, a tutor and head Swim team coach at St. Andrew’s, live in Aurora.

    Jim McGillivray is one of the most successful and prolific Canadian competitive pipers in history and has taught bagpiping at St. Andrew's since 1998. He holds a BA (Hons.) from Wilfrid Laurier University. A renowned and respected piper, pipe teacher, and authority worldwide, he takes great pride in the performing standard of the Pipes & Drums and its pipers and in knowing students leave St. Andrew's with a lifetime hobby. Jim served as Director of the Pipes & Drums for 22 years before stepping back to a part-time role in the music faculty in the fall of 2019. Jim lives in Aurora and is the father of two adult children.

    Joel Morrissey joined the faculty of St. Andrew's College in 2011 as a teacher in the Math Department. In 2012, he became a teacher in the Science Department. Joel earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Ottawa in chemistry and biochemistry and earned his B. Ed. from Trent University in 2011. An avid sports fan, Joel continues to play hockey throughout the year. Joel is a coach for Varsity AAA Hockey and JV Lacrosse.     Wendy graduated from the Office Systems Operations (OSO) program at Seneca College in 1999. Starting at St. Andrew's at Reception in 2000, she moved to a full-time position as the Administration Assistant, Upper and Middle Schools in 2001. She was promoted to the Administration Associate Upper School in 2006, focused on ensuring effective administration of Upper School operations and procedures. Throughout this time, Wendy was a member of the School's Administration Team, overseeing the School's day-to-day operations, and a member of the Admission Committee, responsible for reviewing and recommending Upper School applicants. In March 2011, Wendy was promoted to Executive Assistant to the Head of School. In this role, she assists the Head of School as he moves forward with his initiatives and serves as a liaise between the Board, Board Chair, and the School. Wendy lives in Newmarket with her husband, Don. They have three grown children: Shon, Samantha, and Kyle.

    Angus Murray joined St. Andrew’s College in September 2018 as the School’s Outdoor Education and Risk Management Coordinator. Angus has worked in the field of outdoor and experiential education since he graduated from teacher’s college in 1990 and has guided expeditions to all seven continents. Over the decades, he has worked as a CAIS consultant and at four other independent schools as an outdoor education coordinator including Rosseau Lake College (ON), Strathcona – Tweedsmuir School (AB), Shawnigan Lake School (BC), and the Norval Outdoor School (UCC’s outdoor campus.) Angus teaches the Grade 10 Leadership program and coordinates the SASSAW expedition. He also oversees risk management for off-site trips and security on the SAC campus. Angus lives on campus with his wife, Sarah, and son, Hugh ’26.

    Nicole Nascimento joined the SAC faculty in 2014 as a Modern Language teacher and teaches German. She prepares students for the AP Exam and the Deutsches Sprachdiplom (DSD) Exam. She holds a BA (Hons.) and MA in German Language and Literature from the University of Toronto, an International MBA from the Schulich School of Business, a Business German Diploma from the Goethe Institut, and is PMP certified. As a TA, Nicole taught first and second year German at Trinity College, University of Toronto. Nicole has experience teaching German at private Language Schools in London and Richmond Hill.She created a German-Canadian student exchange program. As a professional consultant, Nicole taught a four-week new consultant program for the Andersen University in St. Charles, Illinois. She has a variety of international work experience, including jobs in Munich and Köln, Germany. Her industry experience includes consulting, manufacturing, IT, telecommunication, and education.     Claudio Numa joined SAC in 2003 as Head of Modern Languages in the Upper School where he teaches French and Spanish. In September 2017, he assumed the roles of Grade Coordinator and Day Head of House. He holds a BA and a Teaching Certificate from  Université de Montréal. Before his career at SAC, he taught languages and film studies for five years at Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School in Alberta. Claudio is involved in planning, organizing, and managing school trips to various French and Spanish-speaking locations, including Ecuador, Costa Rica, and St. Donat, Que. He has played an integral role in the successful launch of the Extended French program. Claudio coaches 1st Volleyball and U14 Squash and is currently living on campus.

    Garry Page is enjoying his fifteenth year with St. Andrew’s College, currently serving as an itinerant music faculty member, Director of Bands, and Director of the St. Andrew’s Academy of Music. He holds honours music degrees in trumpet performance, academics, and teaching from the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, England. Garry immigrated to Canada in 1997, at which point he became a member of the Stratford Festival Orchestra. He has performed as a soloist at top performing arts theatres in Canada and the U.K. and is the founder of award-winning Brass Pages Quintet and trumpet and organ duo Page Two. Garry serves as Director of the New Horizons Bands of Toronto Concert Band for Adult Students. He has numerous Academy and Juno nominated and winning recordings for motion-picture soundtracks, video games, and Naxos classical discs, pop, jazz-fusion, Latin, and blues for Blue Note and Verve. Garry has broadcast for national and local radio stations in the U.K., Europe, Asia, U.S., and Canada with appearances on major television networks, including the BBC and CBC radio. Garry is an award-winning music educator who has had articles on music published by the Royal Conservatory of Music, Conservatory Canada, The Whole-Note, and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. As well, he has written music critiques for local and national newspapers. He is active as a freelance performer, teacher, adjudicator, clinician, university lecturer, and examiner. He has served as a tutor of brass at Kingsway College School, Etobicoke; Director of the KCS ‘Kool Cats’ Jazz Ensemble; and interim Head of Music for Greenwood College School. Garry has on numerous occasions conducted the Conference of Independent Schools Music Festival All-Star Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble at Roy Thomson Hall. In 2021, he received an Education Community Service Award for 25 years as the Royal Conservatory of Music Centre Representative for Stratford, Ont.

    Michael Paluch is the Assistant Head of School and Director of Academics. He joined the faculty at St. Andrew’s in the fall of 2006 as the Department Head of English. Michael has taught in the CAIS system for most of his teaching career, having worked at both Bishop’s College School and The Country Day School before coming to SAC. He completed his Doctorate in Educational Leadership in International School Contexts through Western University with a focus on all-boys education. A member of the St. Andrew’s College Leadership Team, Michael is responsible for the formation, articulation, and interpretation of all aspects of the academic program. He leads the faculty in the areas of curriculum, academic policy and vision, and professional development, and is he is the chair of faculty hiring. In addition to his administrative work at the College, Michael continues to teach a section of Advanced Placement English, supports the Centre for Learning and Teaching, and supports the Debating and Public Speaking program.

    Chris Papalia joined the faculty at St. Andrew’s College in 2012. At SAC, he regularly teaches the AP-Statistics and Data Management courses and is the Head of Memorial House. Chris is also the administrator of SAC’s Summer School program. He has coached Varsity Baseball, Varsity Hockey, and Varsity Squash, co-facilitates the Social Justice Council, and runs the R for Data Visualization Club. Chris has presented three different talks at the Ontario Association of Mathematics Educators (OAME) annual conference and has guest lectured at the University of Toronto in the Preservice Teacher Education program on assessing communication skills in the math curriculum. Chris is a graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, where he majored in physics and was a four-year letter-winner in baseball for the Scots. In addition to his teaching, he is a Baseball Ontario learning facilitator and coach evaluator and represented Ontario as a coach at the Canada Cup and the Canada Summer Games. Chris stays active by playing golf and squash and is privileged to live on the beautiful SAC campus.

    Emily joined the faculty in the Modern Languages Department this year teaching French in the Upper School. Emily is currently working towards her M.Ed. from OISE specializing in educational policy, leadership, and social justice. She also holds her B.Ed. from Queen’s University, an Honours BA from the University of Toronto, and an International Baccalaureate diploma from Pearson College UWC in B.C. She has gained previous experience teaching French at Upper Canada College. Emily acts as a duty teacher in Sifton House, and as an assistant coach for the debate team.

    Emma Porter joined the Moderns Department in September 2012 to teach AP and Extended French. Emma has French in the Middle School, and has now officially taught all grades 5-12 here at SAC. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Guelph University with a major in French, and holds intermediate/senior qualifications in the same. Emma also has her Masters in Behavioural Sciences, her thesis based on behavioural issues in boys. She is currently working on starting her PhD in Education from the University of Toronto. Emma has coached and played soccer at the provincial level. At SAC, Emma coaches the U13A Soccer team and the U13A Basketball team. Emma lives in Bradford with her husband, Jeff, and son, Dean, and daughter Lennox.

    Terry Prezens joined the faculty in 2005 and teaches computer science and computer engineering in the Upper School. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Cognitive Science and a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto. He also has experience writing several textbooks on computer programming. Terry created a co-curricular Robotics Club, where students design and build mini-autonomous robots that compete in national and international soccer competitions. The club was so popular it later became a course. He has more than two decades of experience coaching high school sports like volleyball, football and rugby. In 2018, he was honoured with a Certificate of Achievement from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for Teaching Excellence in STEM. Terry lives in Markham with his wife, Kathy, and their daughter, Kiana.

    Keith Ramon began teaching at St. Andrew's College in 2002. He holds a BA (Hons.) from Trent University, a B.Ed. from Queen's University, and an Honours Specialist from the University of Toronto. He is the Director of Boarding Life and has lived in Sifton House and Macdonald House as the lead in each residence. He is the head coach of the triathlon team and coaches cross-country running. He teaches leadership classes and is a Senior Course Officer for the #142 Highland Cadet Corps. Keith's wife, Melissa, is the librarian and also teaches in the Middle School. Both of their sons attend St. Andrew's and are scheduled to graduate in 2027 and 2029.

    Melissa Ramon began her teaching career at SAC in 2005 as a history teacher in the Middle School. She is the School's Head Librarian, helping boys in Upper and Middle schools enjoy reading and engage in effective research. She is the chair of SAC's Information Technology Integration (ITi) Committee. She received her BA and B.Ed. from Trent University and an Honours Specialist from the University of Toronto. Melissa is the head coach of the curling team at SAC and trains for Ironman triathlons in her personal time. Melissa and her husband, Keith, the Director of Boarding Life, live in Macdonald House with their sons, Owen '27 and Duncan '29.

    Greg Reid joined the faculty of St. Andrew's College in 2000 as Director of Athletics. He was promoted to Assistant Headmaster, School Life and Operations, in September 2012, where his responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of student life, leadership, and discipline. In June 2018, Greg became SAC's fourth Executive Director of Advancement.
     
    Greg earned BA, B.P.H.E. (Hons.) and B.Ed. degrees from Queen’s University and completed an M.Ed. degree in Educational Administration at OISE, University of Toronto. Greg is also a graduate of the CAIS Leadership Institute, has completed the CAIS Next Steps Diploma program in Advanced Leadership, and holds the professional designation of Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA).
     
    Greg holds multiple coaching certifications as well as qualifications in scuba, canoeing, and challenge-course management. He has coached SAC's 1st Lacrosse team since 2003, and is currently an assistant coach with SAC's U18 AAA Hockey team. Greg assisted in the design of the School's Upper Fields project, resulting in the outstanding Yuill Family Athletic Complex, and also consulted on the design and construction of the La Brier Family Arena.
     
    Greg lives with his wife, Chryssi (an elementary school teacher), and has two sons, Bowen (SAC '15, Queen's '20), and Brayden (SAC '18, Guelph '23).

    John Richardson joined the faculty of St. Andrew’s in 2004, teaching music in the Middle School. He holds a B.Mus. and B.Ed. from the University of Toronto, and taught at Crescent School in Toronto before coming to St. Andrew’s. John organizes and directs many student groups, such as the Middle School Band, Middle School Jazz Band, and the Junior Cadet Band. He also co-coaches the Under-14 Tier 1 Soccer Team in the fall. When John is not working in the Music Department, he can be found playing soccer or basketball with the students, or listening to music.

    Claudia has been teaching at SAC since 2003. Although she has experience teaching grades 5-10 at SAC and being a Middle School teacher librarian, her favourite teaching assignment by far is her current one: grade 5 core. She loves teaching boys of this age and thoroughly enjoys the variety of teaching them numerous subjects such as: language arts, math, social studies, visual art, and drama. Currently, Claudia is the Middle School GLC co-ordinator and the U12 softball coach.

    Michael Roy attended SAC as a boarding student, graduating in 1985. He was a House Captain, member of Memorial House and played Varsity hockey, volleyball and JV football.
    A graduate of Mount Allison University, he holds a BA with a major in English Literature and a minor in Business Marketing.
    Michael joined St. Andrew's College in the Advancement Office in 1996 after a career in corporate Canada which included stops at Canadian Tire Corporate Office and hockey manufacturer Bauer Inc. Originally hired to oversee the School's Centennial celebration, Michael was also responsible for Old Boys and Parents Annual Giving, alumni relations and was a Major Gift solicitor within the School's Campus Master Plan team. In 2003 he was promoted to the Director of Admission post managing all elements of enrolment and financial aid. In November of 2010 he added Marketing and Business Development to his portfolio.
    He coached the SAC Varsity Hockey team for three season's winning a CISAA championship in 2001.
    Michael is married to Susan and has two children: Nolan '17 and Karsen.

    Steve began his teaching career at St. Andrew’s in 1988. He has a BA in Economics and Computer Science from The University of Western Ontario and is an Honours Specialist in Philosophy. Steve is currently the Director of IT and the Head of Computer Science and teaches two courses on Philosophy in grades 11 and 12. He is also Coach of the Varsity and Intramural Squash teams, and is devoted to developing junior squash players at the school. The Varsity Squash team won the CISAA Championship seven of the eight years between 2006 and 2014. He has coached U14 Hockey, U16 Football and Varsity Football, where he was part of three CISAA Championship teams.  He competes provincially in masters squash tournaments and has been ranked as high as 3rd in the province. Steve lives in Newmarket with his wife, Paula, an English literature and drama teacher at Newmarket High School, and their five children: Colleen, Stephen, Kevin '12, Brendan '17, and Nolan '21.

    William Scoular joined the faculty of St. Andrew’s in 1987. He is a graduate of Oxford University where he received a BA and MA in English Language and Literature. William is now Head of the Drama Department and teaches English and theatre studies in the Upper School. He has directed more than 25 main stage productions and over 60 plays for the annual FOCUS Festival of the Arts, a celebration of the arts he founded 20 years ago.  William is also author of Not An Ordinary Place, co-author of A Question of Guilt, and editor of Secret Agent: The Selected Journals and Letters of Harry Somers.

    Courtenay Shrimpton joined SAC in 1999 as a history teacher and Housemaster of Flavelle. He holds a BA and B.Ed. from McGill University, and a master's degree in Leadership from Royal Roads University. Previously the Dean of Students at Lower Canada College, Courtenay served as the Assistant Headmaster, Student Life at SAC for 15 years, and for the past five has taken on the responsibilities of Assistant Head of School, Upper School and Strategic Development. In this capacity, Courtenay oversees the Upper School, its faculty, and its students. He oversees the administration team and works closely with Michael Paluch and Department Heads. Courtenay is responsible for the coordination and direction of strategic initiatives at the School, focusing on implementing strategic priorities through the 2017-2022 Strategic Plan. He coaches First Football and First Basketball. He has completed his CAIS Leadership Institute Diploma and writes and teaches extensively on independent school leadership. Courtenay lives in Aurora with his wife, Leslie, also a teacher, and their three daughters.

    David Stewart joined the faculty in 2000 as a history teacher in the Upper School. He holds a BA (Hons.), with a major in history and minor in drama, and a B.Ed. specializing in history from Queen’s University. Prior to coming to St. Andrew’s, he worked at Queen’s University as a Recruitment Officer. David became the Department Head of History and Social Sciences for the Upper School in 2004 but has stepped away from that role to assume the position of Middle and Upper School Chapel Coordinator as well as joining the School Life Team. He has spent 11 years in residence at SAC, first as Assistant Housemaster in Macdonald House then as Housemaster of Flavelle House. He organizes the annual St. Andrew’s College Remembrance Day Ceremony. David is also the principal announcer at major SAC events, including Homecoming and the MacPherson Tournament. Since 2003, David has planned and organized the annual Battlefield Tour to France and Belgium. In 2015 and 2016, he was the honoured recipient of the Biafran Award. This year he will be coaching U14 Hockey and Junior Golf. David lives in Newmarket with his wife, Natascia, and their two children, Conor and Hannah.

    Katie Still began as the Grade 6 Core teacher at St. Andrew's College in 2016. She completed a Professional Masters of Education from Queen's University in March 2021 and holds a BA (Hons.) from Queen's, a B.Ed. from Lakehead University, and an honours specialist in teaching English language learners. She has additional qualifications in intermediate math and English. She teaches Grade 7 and 8 language arts, Grade 7 history, and Grade 6 social studies. Katie served as the Academic Support Coordinator in the Middle School, creating student support plans and overseeing academic accommodations. She is a member of the ITi committee and is the Middle School Green Team leader. She coaches U14B Soccer, the Middle School swim team, and previously helped with Track & Field and U14 Rugby.

    Jarryd Stock is a St. Andrew’s College Old Boy from the Class of 2003 and the current Associate Director of Admission. During his time at St. Andrew’s, Jarryd was a 3-term varsity athlete, scholar, prefect, Lieutenant, and the lead in multiple dramatic productions. After SAC, Jarryd attended Western University where he obtained a double major in psychology and sociology. Following university, Jarryd rejoined SAC as a Residential Don and Residential Life Curriculum Coordinator. This experience offered him invaluable insight into the boarding program at SAC and its many benefits. He went on to become a management trainee at PepsiCo but returned to SAC as an admission officer in October 2011. He was promoted to associate director of admission in July 2017. Jarryd has been an integral part of the Admission Team, helping to achieve enrolment needs and several key tactical and strategic elements, including the School's Andrean Residential Experience (ARE) program and SAC’s international consultant partnership strategy. Jarryd and his wife, Samantha, live in Toronto with their son, Wesley, and daughter, Lennon.

    Melissa Tackaberry started at St. Andrew’s in 2001 as a math teacher in the Upper School. She holds a BA and BEd from the University of Windsor and previously taught in the Simcoe Country District School Board. She is the faculty advisor for the Student Outreach Council, runs the Holiday Heroes program in conjunction with the York Region Children's Aid Society, and is the coordinator of the School's ACPlus program.

    Amanda Thorne joined St. Andrew’s in 2001 as a science teacher in the Upper School. In July 2017, she was named to the Upper School School Life Team, providing support to both the pastoral and academic needs of the College. Amanda holds a B.Sc. from the University of Waterloo, a B.Ed. from Queen’s University, and an M.Ed. from Nipissing University. Before joining SAC, Amanda taught courses in chemistry and biology at Sutton District High School in the York Region District School Board. She currently holds the position of Associate Director, Academics - Student Support, is the lead facilitator of the Guided Learning Centre, and teaches Grade 12 chemistry.

    After teaching math and science for one year at another independent school, Paul Totera joined the SAC faculty in 2010. He received his B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of Victoria and his B.Ed. from Lakehead University. At SAC he has taught grades 9 and 10 science and civics in the Upper School, and as a former Cadet himself, he is a Senior Course Officer for the #142 St. Andrew's College Highland Cadet Corps. As well, he is involveed with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award program, coached a number of teams including U16 Badminton, U14 and U16 Soccer, and U14 Squash, and works with the Middle School concert band. He also coordinated the Residential Evening program from 2010-2012. Paul is an Assistant Housemaster in Macdonald House and teaches science in the Middle School.

    Matthew Trevisan joined the St. Andrew’s faculty in 2010 as an English teacher in the Upper School. Matthew has a BA (Hons.) from Queen’s University and a B.Ed from OISE’s inner-city program. Before coming to SAC, Matthew wrote for The Globe and Mail, CTVOlympics.ca, and the Kingston Whig-Standard. He has worked as the English Department Head and Assistant Head of Memorial House, helped launch the school’s Social Justice Council, co-taught the broadcast journalism program in its first years, and coached U16 Soccer, Varsity Swimming, and Track & Field. He currently assists students in the Guided Learning Centre’s Writing Centre.

    Nick Tsioros began his teaching career at St. Andrew’s in 1994 teaching health and physical education to grade 9 students and courses in exercise science for grade 12 students. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Ed. from Boston University and is a graduate of SAC from the Class of 1988. Nick was a competitive distance runner for many years, and as a junior athlete he represented Canada at several World Cross Country and Track Championships. In 1996, he was ranked fifth in Canada and narrowly missed making the Olympic team for the marathon. He coaches the Varsity Cross-Country and Track & Field teams. In the past, he has also coached club runners in the Etobicoke Track & Field Club as well as in the Newmarket Huskies. Nick lives in Aurora with his family.

    Heather Tugnett began her career as an athletic therapist at St. Andrew’s in 2011 and was promoted to Head Athletic Therapist in 2015. As a Certified Athletic Therapist and Registered Kinesiologist, Heather enjoys providing care to the students of St. Andrew’s and mentoring athletic therapy students as they prepare for certification in the profession of Athletic Therapy. Heather holds a BA (Hons.) degree in Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University (2008), a BAHSc (Hons.) degree in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College (2011), and a M.Sc. of Rehabilitation Science from McMaster University (2016). At St. Andrew’s, Heather has been involved with the SASSAW program, facilitates First Aid courses for SAC students, and is a member of the Community Engagement & Wellness Committee. Outside of her work at St. Andrew’s, Heather is the Chair of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association Member Services Committee and has served as a volunteer for several major games, including the 2015 Pan Am Games and the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

    Nicholas Weedon ’02 started in the Alumni & Advancement Office in 2008 as the Old Boy Officer and in 2018 was promoted to Associate Director of Advancement with his role expanding to include fundraising for major gifts. As an Old Boy of SAC, Nicholas has a love and appreciation for all things Andrean. During the winter term, Nicholas coaches U12 Hockey. He earned his BA (Hons.) from Western University and MBA from the University of Fredericton. Nicholas lives in Aurora with his wife, Ashley, and their two children, Abigail and Bennett (Class of 2034).

    Matt Wyatt joined the faculty in 2014. He holds an Masters in Fine Art in New Media from Transart Institute (Berlin/NYC) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons.) in Visual Arts (Studio) from Lakehead University. Prior to joining St. Andrew's, he taught art and English in Tokyo, Japan, where he lived for seven years. Outside of teaching, he has worked in marketing, design, and musical performance, and he also maintains a fine art painting practice. Matt joined the visual arts team to help broaden students' visual arts experiences and understanding of contemporary art. In 2015, he helped design and introduce the new broadcast journalism course and student news program SAC TODAY. Matt lives on campus with his wife and their two children.

    Jessica Zhou joined the St. Andrew's College faculty in 2018 as a science teacher in the Upper School. After completing her Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biology at Queen's University, she received her B.Ed. at the University of Ottawa. With a desire to travel, Jessica taught high school math and science in Zhenjiang, China for four years before returning home to Ontario. As a member of the ITi Committee, Jessica strives to share her passion for biology and the sciences through various forms of technology. You'll often find her students analyzing computer simulations of biological processes or engaged in conversation as they solve their latest virtual case study. When not in the classroom, Jessica can be found outdoors exploring local GTA trails with her math-loving husband, Chester, or at home on her couch enjoying quality time with her Nintendo Switch.
