Great books, fun challenges, and cool prizes for top readers are all part of a recreational reading program now running in Towers Library.
The Forest of Reading program, an initiative of the Ontario Library Association, offers Canadian fiction and non-fiction books to “excite and encourage kids to read.”

Ian Williamshas won the 2019 Scotiabank Giller Prize, Canada's richest literary award for fiction, for his novel Reproduction.
Williams was revealed as the latest recipient of the $100,000 prize at a gala hosted by singer-songwriter, actor and writer Jann Arden in Toronto (CBC.ca).
The Scotiabank Giller Prize highlights the best of Canadian fiction. This year, 117 works of literature were submitted for consideration which was then narrowed down to six finalists.
