The vision of Athletics at SAC has remained virtually unchanged in over 100 years.
The School’s second Headmaster from 1900-1935, Rev. D. Bruce Macdonald, did not want students in the stands, he wanted students on the playing fields! That remains a central focus of the St. Andrew's approach today. With approximately 615 students and 67 representative teams, along with house league and intramurals, our athletic program is among the best in Canada.
The philosophy of the athletic program supports the mission of St. Andrew's College: developing the complete man, the well-rounded citizen. Our athletic program provides students with important life skills whether they play on competitive or intramural teams. Team and individual sports play a vital role in developing one’s physical, intellectual, social, and emotional well being.
All Upper School students are required to participate in athletics for a minimum of two of the three terms on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. All Middle School students are expected to be involved with the athletics program for all three terms on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. In addition, our representative teams often play scheduled games on Saturdays. All students capable of playing for a school team are expected to do so.
At St. Andrew’s College we’re committed to providing an excellent sport experience for our students.
