SAC Competes in 2023 Canadian National Rifle Championships

For the first time, St. Andrew's College students competed at the 2023 Canadian National Rifle Championships, held in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, between August 2-10. Andy Yang and Tristan Zhou, both Grade 10 students, competed in the Air Rifle Individual and Air Rifle Mixed Team events.

In the Mixed Team event, Andy was paired with a Grade 9 student from Havergal College, Emily Yang, while Tristan was paired with St. Andrew's Marksmanship coach, Cindy Luk. Yang and Yang were the 6th-place junior team. Both teams had personal bests.

The individual category was a two-day event. Tristan scored his personal best on the first day with a score of 519.2, while the second day was a respectable 512.7. Andy shot a 502.7 on the first day, improving it on the second day with a 505.2.

Thank you to the Club Sportif de la Mourice, the Match Director, Chief Range Officer, and all the other range staff and volunteers for making this event successful and enjoyable.
