Library Advisory Council Kicks Off Summer Reading

Posted: June 14, 2012

Last month, the Library Advisory Council – Jeffery Chen, Chris Leung, Baron Liu, Malcolm Maroon, Saad Saddiqui, Andrew Mackin, Joel Lat, David McMillan, Tom Sinclair, Michael Sifton and Robert Trocchia – were let loose in Chapters with the mandate of choosing books they would like to read and that they thought their fellow students would also enjoy.

The books they selected were incredibly diverse and included fantasies, adventures, mysteries, graphic novels, manga, historical works, and more. The choices range from the Fablehaven series (Jeffery and Chris) to Hitler’s Panzers (Tom) and Trainspotting (Andrew), and from Middle School: The Worst Years (Baron) to Chronicles of Vladimir Tod (Michael) and American Psycho (Saad).

Using these books as a focus, we’ve created summer reading suggestions for both Middle and Upper Schools. The books are in the library, and we hope that you find something that appeals to you: something light-hearted for those days when you just want to pick up a quick read, or something more challenging when you are looking for something new or different. For the full lists, see the library web page.

Have a wonderful summer ... and READ; it’s such a great way to relax and discover!
