SAC’s Most Eligible Bachelor?
Posted: May 5, 2012
TV’s newest bachelor is none other than St. Andrew’s Old Boy Brad Smith from the Class of 2002. The 28-year-old originally from Hudson, Que., is a CFL free agent and last played receiver for the Edmonton Eskimos. He was on campus in April with a Citytv crew prior to the May 1 Bachelor Canada announcement to shoot promotional footage leading up to the show’s premier this fall.
While on campus Brad spoke to the Middle School students in Chapel about how being an Andrean has made him who he is today. He then tossed the football on the Quad with members of the Varsity Football team, and spent some time catching up with Headmaster Kevin McHenry and Head of Drama, William Scoular.
While attending St. Andrew’s Brad truly embodied the School’s mission of ‘developing the complete man, the well-rounded citizen.’ He played 1st Football, 1st Hockey and 1st Lacrosse and was an integral part of Mr. Scoular’s drama productions. On the day of the semifinal victory over St. Michael’s College School in the Golden Horseshoe Bowl at York University in 2001, no sooner was the football game over then Brad was whisked back to campus, changing into his costume en route, to play the lead role of Fagin in the School’s production of Oliver!
Brad will now be making a name for himself as Canada’s most eligible bachelor in the premier of the Canadian version of the U.S. reality TV show.
