Social Awareness

The Social Awareness curriculum seeks to round the "Complete Man". As an independent boys day and boarding environment situated in an historical era that has seen monumental change occur in the social mores of modern society we feel a deep sense of responsibility for the learning that goes on outside of the classroom.

Music, Art, Drama, Sports, Cadets, Duke of Edinburgh, Community Service and all the rest are vital components in the development of the “Complete Man.” Equally important to us here at the College is preparing young men who are ready to face the challenges of a challenging world. The Social Awareness Curriculum seeks to expose young men to differences of opinion, to challenge them on societal assumptions, and to ensure that they are thinking critically about the interpersonal decisions that face them in a very peer influenced adolescence. The Social Awareness Curriculum is delivered through Advisory, Chapel, Assemblies, Student Productions and Presentations, in the residences and by bringing in Guest Speakers and more. This year the three themes of the Social Awareness Curriculum will be, in order by term: Embracing Diversity, Health and Wellness and Ethical Decision Making.

Time in the schedule: Chapel 4X/wk plus Friday Assembly from 9:50-10:25
