Sampling French Cuisine

Last Tuesday, the students in the grade 10 French class traveled to Schomberg, ON for an exciting French déjeuner at La Port Soirée. The voyage complemented the end of the class’s first unit “la cuisine” and allowed the boys to indulge in a authentic French atmosphere. The boys were expected to speak French during the entire trip, including the busride, and were awarded prizes accordingly.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, the boys completed a scavenger hunt with gift certificates to the restaurant as an incentive. They then chose between pasta or veal as their main course and crème Brule or chocolate mousse for dessert. The kind Chef spoke perfect French and helped complete the French experience.

"We all enjoyed this trip very much and feel very fortunate that we go to school so close to this amazing restaurant," said Justin Moryto. “Those who were awarded gift certificates look forward to going back." Zachary Seto said that he enjoyed, “the French atmosphere and the scavenger hunt.”

On behalf of our class, we would like to thank our teacher, Mr. Numa for this outstanding trip, and Mr. Paluch for accompanying us. Congratulations to the winners of the scavenger hunt, Justin Moryto, Jonathan Cannon, and Larry Filipopoulos.
