X-Country Team Finishes Strong

The Senior Cross country team traveled to Port Hope this week to finish the season where it began, with a race at Trinity College School. Throughout the season the team braved the elements and battled the crowds; the senior runners battling it out with 700 other runners at the pre-OFSAA meet on October 14.

At the CISAA Finals in Port Hope on October 27, the Saints were determined to tackle the dreaded “Mt. Trinity” – a steep 100m climb at the end of the course – with vigour. The weather cooperated with a perfect day for running, and allowed many team members to improve on their earlier results. Michael Chiang shaved 6:09 minutes off his 5km time, while Jack Bang demolished his previous 7km result, cutting his time by 7:45 minutes!

Congratulations go out to the whole team:  Curtis Lai, Mac McIntosh, Ryan Neiman, Michael Chiang, Anthony Ponzo, Alex Harris, Ryan Lee, Brendan MacDonald, Martin Lo, Yoon Kim, Jack Bang, James Byun, Kent Leslie, Spencer Powell and Lucas Breda.
