1. Global. Our student body is comprised of 291 local day students and 255 boarding students from various provinces across Canada and 29 other countries. Approximately 50% of our boarding community is international, representing countries such as the Bahamas, China, Germany, Jamaica, Korea, Mexico, Spain, Trinidad and the United States.

2. After graduation. 100% of our graduates are offered admission to universities and colleges around the world. SAC is a university preparatory school and we are proud of our record in preparing students for university.

3. Stunning. St. Andrew's has a spectacular 110-acre campus. Our academic, athletic, art and residential facilities make SAC a unique place to learn and live. SAC is more like a small university campus than a high school.

4. Teachers. 100% of our faculty hold undergraduate degrees while 80% hold an Advanced degree. All teachers coach a sport and get involved with our students outside of the classroom.

5. Direction. Our Guidance Office is comprised of three counsellors dedicated to helping students with university and college applications, SAT prep, course selection and the proper placement of post-secondary education. 

6. Achievement. The 116 graduates from the Class of 2007 were offered a total of 563 acceptances to universities throughout the world, with an average of 4.9 acceptances per student. The graduating class received more than $1 million in scholarships and awards toward their post-secondary education, and 69% graduated as Ontario Scholars with an overall average of above 80%. 

7. Community. Approximately half of our faculty reside on campus with their families.

8. Going places. Sports teams, music ensembles, Duke of Edinburgh trips are but a sampling of international, supervised co-curricular/educational travel opportunities offered through the school.

9. Working for the weekend. Although initially conceived for boarding students, many day students take advantage of the numerous weekend trips offered. Activities range from professional sporting events to museum visits, white water rafting, concerts, skiing, etc.

10. On the edge. The SAC community is a fully wireless laptop environment. All classrooms have projection units while Math and Science classes also make use of mimio and smart board technology.  All residential rooms are wired as well.    

11. Roots. St. Andrew’s was founded in 1899. We are one of Canada’s only remaining all-boys boarding and day schools. We believe in the benefits of single-sex education and remain dedicated to providing young men opportunities to learn and grow.

12. Strength. We offer 24 sports and have 54 representative teams.

13. Athletic facilities. Our campus is home to 9 playing fields, 4 tennis courts, track, 25-metre indoor pool, 6 international squash courts, 10 locker rooms, an extensive fitness and weight room, a high ropes challenge course, a team building and initiatives area, 2 double gymnasiums, a rock climbing wall and access to 6 community ice hockey rinks.

14. Therapeutic. We have our own Athletic Injury Care Centre with state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated on-site staff. At the varsity level, in contact sports, physiotherapy staff travel with teams ensuring proper care for our student athletes.

15. The Doctor will see you now. Our newly renovated on-campus Health & Wellness Centre has a five bed infirmary, part-time doctor available three mornings a week and on-call, Director of Health & Wellness and Head Nurse, and dedicated around-the-clock professional medical care.

16. Divine intervention. We employ a full-time Chaplain who teaches and also acts in a counselling capacity. SAC is an interfaith community that enables boys to celebrate their own spirituality. Attendance in Chapel two to three times weekly is a time-honoured tradition.

17. Leadership. We offer students a chance to develop lifelong skills through an extensive co-curricular program including Prefectship, music, drama, the Duke of Edinburgh Young Canadians Challenge, residential leadership, the Student Ambassador program, Cadets, the liaison committee and the student council.

18. Worldwide. SAC students, alumni and families span the globe. With over 7500 Andreans worldwide, you join a global community of leaders.

20. Size. With a student population of 546 boys and 65 faculty, our student/faculty ratio is 9:1. Average class size is 17 students. Senior-level students enjoy smaller groupings, sometimes with as few as nine boys per class.     

21. FOCUS on the arts. Our annual festival, held each May is a community-wide, student-driven celebration of the arts at SAC. This festival is home to student-scripted, -directed and -acted plays, skits and art. Music is a big part of this scene and not only from the music department. Student bands rock the place during this four-day festival. Faculty and administration join in on the fun as well.

22. Cadets in Concert. This is another yearly event held each February, which combines the talents of our nationally-renowned Pipes & Drums Band in concert with our musical ensembles. It is one of the most unique experiences in music – not to be missed!

23. Lending a helping hand. The school awards more than $1.3 million annually in financial aid and scholarships.

24. Lending a helping hand Part II. Our community of alumni, current and past parents, and friends of the school donate more than $1 million in annual charitable contributions through the school’s Foundation.
